Now you all probably know this already, but I just found this feature, so it's exciting. In the Main Camera View window in the quad view, if you open the options drop-menu, you can click Show Last Render In Back, so you can see the render over top your Open-GL partial view of the scene. AWESOME!

Knew it, but forgot about it.

Well you can better see how it will look, and you can select things and move them while seeing them in full lighting - it's almost like instant rendering rather than OpenGL - especially of you're only making small tweaks and not really moving anything a lot.

Hello, Ellminster ! If this "show last render" thing works fine with you, I'm glad for you... 'cause here, on my Mac, I'd call this function "show first render", because it shows only the very first render of a session, independently of what I render later. Even if I close the actual scene, and open a new one, the rendereing of the first scene will show up in the back of the second one. Funny - but not very useful for me. Restarting Vue set things back, for a new background. I'll update to the latest version of Vue, and hope that this will update the background, too...

GPFrance: That's weird, I can't see how the show first render option could help... shrug

Ellminster, I just updated to Vue 5.09-02 and to MacOSX 10.4.4, but things stay same :( except that now it is in french (am in France) Switching my "afficher le dernier calcul en fond" feature on or off and back again, loading a new scene, - nothing will do, it allways shows the first render of the first scene :( Until restarting Vue. Not really useful for working. Perhaps kind'reminder, when playing around, not to forget, what one originally wanted to do, at startup... If I find some free time, I'll try to document that, and send it to the tech staff.
