Subject: Is there ever going to be an update released that doesn't screw some thing up??

Ok, I'm a little upset here so bear with me. I updated V5I to version 5.09 and now I can't open a scene file that I prev saved. I'm trying to make a correction to the scene for an error that some one pointed out when I posted the image in the gallery. The scene file worked before and now I can't open it to render my image again with the corrections!!! I'm afraid if I try and do a roll back I'll just make things worse. Now I have to recreate my whole scene over!!! ARRRRGHH!!!!!!!

I did the auto install and corrupted Vue; tried uninstalling from Vue but it told me it couldn't do it because it was corrupted LOL! I did a complete uninstall of Vue then reinstalled, then manually downloaded the update and installed it. So far, so good...it does let me open previous saved scenes...yipee!! :)

Do you have a cornucopia plant in the scene you can't open? I know they fixed plant issues in the 5.09 update, could be related.

No, no plants in the scene. I'm just going to have to do the reinstall deal.

Well, problems I had in 5.08 are still with me in the full 5.09 update...and after putting quite some time into working with Tech Support. I'm not going to rant...I'm just very disappointed. I will have a think about if it's time to move on to more productive software I'm afraid. I feel let down.

Hi Cheers Just a quick check - do you have a .BAK version of your scene just to make sure the original hasn't been corrupted? I know that scenes saved in 5.09 may not open in 5.08, but I haven't (yet) seen this vice versa. What i'd honestly do if you want to try saving your scene is to upload it to www.YouSendIt.com - e-mail the link to yourself, then paste it on a thread to E-on Tech Support. Bear in mind it's the weekend - and you usually need to give them 2 or so business days to respond, and without a specific file to test, it's probably harder to investigate. Do you have any more information about the type of scene, the error message, what it relates to etc. that we might be able to help with? Kind regards

Here's the error that I get. It just says that it's unable to open the scene file. I know the file worked before the update because I rendered an image with it and then posted the image in the gallery. I then updated to 5.09 and now the scene file can't be opened.

How about the .BAK file Creed2003? Is this error after upgrading to 5.09 or after rolling back to 5.08 again? Do you have another backup to make sure the file didn't get corrupted after the first upgrade attempt? (also check the date and time of the .Vue to see if it preceeds or succeeds the update date/time) What did E-On say - did they get to play with the file? If it opened before then it most certainly should open in 5.09 - so i'm sure if they had the file and recreated the error, they could pinpoint the cause of this - but as far as I know - this is the only instance i've heard of a 5.08 not opening in 5.09 (unless i'm mistaken). After so many people favourably tested 5.09 - it was a real pity that the auto-updater initially had problems with a corrupted 5.09 (two bytes apparently) - whereas the manual download appears to have been otherwise fine! Anyhow - don't give up hope yet! >8o) Kind regards

I've got a problem opening Poser since the original auto update. Can't open it, gives me a parse error warning. I have manually downloaded the new 509 & installed straight over the old one. Should I re-install 'Infinite' for the fifth time since owning it perhaps? Getting tiresome! Is parse error something else entirely?

I see parse error's are Poser related. Must have been a download item!
