Subject: Renderosity Time

Can I change the time here so it reflects my time, rather than US time? I cannot seem to find an option anywhere. Thanks

Plus the date is backword LOL I keep thinking it is saying it is the 2nd of August - very confusing Much easier if we could adjust it to the correct way of displaying the date in other countries

"That's Americans for ya. ;o)"

Wasn't it Americans who invented reverse Polish notation for arithmetic?

Here's a link that tells you all about it for those without a life and too much time on their hands.

:D My apologies -- it was invented by an Australian (according to Wiki) ;)

"Time is an illusion and lunchtime doubly so" ...Ford Prefect. And as I always say Daylight Saving Time triply so. Nothing shows relativity so much as in different time zones and their frames of reference, since the server is in Nashville it gets to set the reference relative to them. The British were the 1st to come up with the idea of time zones so they got to set the reference with Grenwich Mean Time in London. It all depends where you are. They put the name of the month instead of the number so it shouldn't matter whether they put the day 1st like in Europe since it can't be confused with it. I've found that artists post at all hours not just at Midnight Render Time so that wouldn't solve your problem in any case. The easiest way to find out when they post is to put them on your favorite artist list so you can get an ebot when they post an image.

Hell, it's a different date in some parts of the world. When does the new day start at Renderosity (for purposes of posting new pix to the galleries)?

Argon18 ( ) posted Wed, 08 February 2006 at 11:18 AM

At Midnight of course, and since it states the date at the top of the page it's hard to get confused all you have to do is go by that. That's the easist way to know when you can post an image again in the galleries and some even post at 11:50pm and then again at 12:10am if they have more than 1 image to upload

The best reason for keeping one Rendo Time posted for everybody is for events such as sales and contests which start and end at specific times. There are always people complaining about missing a sale at some other sites because they couldn't find the time displayed. Even things such as PoserPros Hallowe'en specials caught people by surprise because Guarie was daily updating... according to Australian time! There are places such as New Foundland which are set a half-hour off (straddling time zones) and states/countries which spread over several, and places which adopt Daylight Saving Time and places which do not (and the months in which that starts and ends are being shifted over the next few years). If the server time is used constantly, it does offer a constant in a changing world. Carolly
