Hi, I've searched a lot for tutorials on creating conforming clothes, I got thousands of links from here and other forums and all I could do was to get dizzy, lol. I'm relatively new to Poser, and I know nothing about bones. I made a very simple miniskirt in 3DMax (also newbie there lol), I imported it into Poser with no problem, I created the groups with the right names and... I did what I could with the bones, I couldn't find blonde-friendly tuts. I had a problem when exiting the Setup room, the skirt looked all bend and twisted, but I noticed that the dials had big numbers (if anyone can explain me why that happened, I would be more than grateful). I set everything to zero, and it looked almost right.

Now the problem I have is that when I conform the skirt to V3 (I used that figure as a reference for the skirt), I get the results in Figure 2 (see pic above).

Can anyone help me with this? I have no clue, and didn't have a clue while I was trying to create the bones, lol.

In Figure 3 you can see how the bones look like, the names are right.

Am I missing something? The tut I used said just create groups and create bones... am I supposed to play with joints too?

Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!!!

It looks like your Hip group doesn't go all the way to the seam? The thigh/buttock parts can't meet, the hip MUST divide them. That might be part of your problem. And yes, you may have to fiddle with the joints as well *GAH! I'm doing just that myself right now LOL)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

I can't help with the setup room, but I can tell you how I'd do it, if that's useful. First of all, I wouldn't bother with groups in a short skirt like that. Group it all to 'hip' - just select all in UVMapper, assign to group, and save the new mesh. The abdomen and buttock actors will still have the correct effect without physical groups being present. Second, the easiest way to rig clothing is to steal er, I mean "borrow" a CR2 from an existing item. Just edit the figureResFile line to point to your new OBJ mesh. If you haven't seen it, my tutorial may be of some help - you don't need to follow all of it, since you've done the modelling part.

ernyoka: Thanks!! I didn't know that the hip must divide the buttocks part, it seems it wasn't such a good tutorial the one I used, lol. And I hope the joints are easy, lol. Hehehe, I know whom I'll ask if I have a doubt (poor ernyoka, haha) EnglishBob: Thanks a lot for that link, I saved the tut and I will try it right now. But first I'm going to try the things both of you told me about the hip. Wish me luck and keep your fingers crossed, lol. Thanks again guys!!
