Subject: Very bad idea to remove "upload date" for product

wcngai ( ) posted Mon, 06 February 2006 at 4:54 PM · edited Fri, 09 August 2024 at 2:50 PM

I am a regular buyer. I buy products base on the date when they uploaded. As a buyer, I am sure that you don't want to buy something that's too old, or no update. As a seller, I am sure that you rather update your products regulary instead of hiding the upload date to confuse your buyers to buy outdated products? I like to buy product here is becuase the upload date was there to give me an idea when the product was released. But now is not there anymore? Very bad idea, really.

Hi, I believe this feature is on the list of items to be brought back. Please be patient as we try and get all things added for the customers and merchants. Thanks Stacey Renderosity Store

If I may peep in as a merchant... I do not "update" my products. I consider them finished once they're.. er.. finished. I make new things of course, but... Not everything is crap just because it's a few years old...

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Just my 2c as a buyer, I used to like seeing the upload date, but I'd buy older products too. Sometimes I'd buy older products and tell myself I was probably saving myself money, because its $15 and when new it might have been $20. More than that though, I used it to check for new products, I'd browse for products over the last week to see what was there since I last spent a good while looking. I'd like to see the feature come back, but I'll still buy older stuff.
