what online printing companies do you recommend?

I have used the standby that comes with the PSP8 as a connection. Shutterfly.com I spoke to them by email about printers etc. and was told if you use color management the printers are able to recognize that in printing. You might want to check first before auto processing takes place but was told that check is auto, too. I have had very fine results from photo prints. Yes, it took a few using my settings(not color managed other than basic calibration of monitor, etc, no color software used) to get exactly what I wanted. Still, when what I see is what I want, they are generally "right on" in color, etc. Just be sure to deselect "vivid pics" which is a consumer image enhancement program to improve images, much as used at Walgreens and others who use Fugi printers. The prints are on Fugi Crystal Archive photo paper, it is not inkjet or laser. This is a photo using perhaps sublimation(who knows, not me?) processes with the same paper a photo would be developed on. Good results overall from start to finish with Shutterfly. Then again..there are many to choose from. Hope this helps. TomDart.

i've used Clark Photos before but since going digital,
i just use my own Canon i900 printer
or Wal-Mart's do-it-yourself print photo machine
with a burned CD since i don't like sticking my card in there :P

Cindy, while I recommend Shutterfly, it did take a few images to get things like I wanted to. I don't use the inbuilt enhancements offered by online and kiosk printers like Wallgreen's, CVS and Walmart. You have to be sure the operator at the drugstores doesn't try to make you pics "better" when you already have what you want! One highly rated(by two reviews..yikes) is York Photo, an online printer. Truth is, I will likely use Walgreen's. Results have been good and if a store is convenient the speed is nice. They use Fugi. CVS uses Kodak processing and is also rated highly. Walgreen's will take online and ship if desired but I don't need to do that. Amazing..used to be we had to go to a photo studio or a photo store to get really good prints, from film. Digital has changed a bunch. For your friend, I suppose much depends on how much work they want to do on the shots to start with. I suspect most done commercially are straight from the cam. Yes, I put mine on cd first. I think Walgreen's takes TIFF as well as jpg but am not certain. Best wishes.

yeah.. i've had good results with York too.. but i do like the do-it-yourself machine at Wally world.. & they'll let me do my own paper cutting too.. lol :]
