Do you know if it's possible to have two characters in a scene, each having they're own voice. I feel it can be done considering on the poser speak website there's a movie called "UFO" that has two characters and two different voices. I'm using poser speak with Poser 6. Thanks.

I can't see this video with my browser this time, but i try to get 2 characters speaking at one time. I think it's not possible with default posertools. There's only one timeline in the animationpart. I can't add a second one for now. I can add different mimics but no speech. If there's a solution please let us know. Greetings

The best way to do this, if you don't have a video editor, is to make sure your two sound files are exactly the same length. Make your two Poserspeak animations, seperately, which should both be the same length. Combine your two animations, and in a sound editor, mix your two audio tracks into one track. Then add your sound to your finished animation in Poser, and render. But ultimately it is always best to render your video and to add your sound afterwards in a video editor. The video editor will allow you cool things like mixing sound, individual volume controls for each sound channel etc. There are some free video editors available. If you go to a bookstore and look at magazines that cater for amateur movie makers, they always have free video editors on the cover discs.

And if you don't have a video editor, you can download one from the attached link for free. Don't use this prog myself, since I have a commercial app that does the same thing (Sony Movie Studio, which is really the lite version of Vegas video editing software.) Last time I tried it out, the interface awas a bit quirky, but it seemed to work fine. (The version posted is newer than the version I tried.) You really need a video editor anyway. Trying to make animations in a 3-D app without also knowing how to use a video editor/compositor is a little bit like being an auto mechanic that can't work on the car's electrical system. Any kind of media procduction is a workflow chain, with multiple programs coming into the process. You might want to invest in a good one, like Vegas or Premiere, but if you're on a budget, there are some very capable ones for around US$50 - US$100. I find the Sony one to be among the best, but Ulead and Pinnacle also make very capable products. But if you don't have the budget at all right now, grab the free one from the link and play around with it. - Jimdoria ~@>@

ockham has created a python script called 'Soundscape' (I think?) which allows you to mix your sounds together in Poers itself. Obviously, as a python script, this is only worthwhile for those in P5+. What it does is attach sound files to individuals figures, thus allowing you to create a 3D soundscape, with sounds following a moving car, for example - or set to create the sound of a footstep on gravel with each step. You can place sounds anywhere, and they're triggered by certain criteria within the model (bend/rtation limits, etc.), or can just be played straight through. Soundscape then mixes the sounds dow ninto one file when you're happy with them, creating the single sound file that Poser prefers within it's native borders. Haven't got round to trying it yet, myself, but it looks like a good solution. jonthecelt
