Well, I'd recommend checking out Free Stuff at the top of this page and checking under the Bryce category. There're a ton of free materials there. Also in the post before yours there is a link to a good tutorial for making your own altitude sensitive materials. Do a search here in the forum under the topic material. Also do a Google search under Bryce materials. You should get several thousand links there.

The most extensive tutorials for Bryce4 (all of which work in Bryce5) are to be found in Susan Kitchens' Real World Bryce4, which covers how the texture editor works in great detail. There's a link to Amazon in the header above. If you don't have this book, it is considered the Bryce bible.

Land 0'Goshen, there are thousands of mats out there, hundreds per site. Try Lunariad.com, Wolfie's Den, 3D ..er, well, IM me and I'll give you that one..;) Zhann's Place (one for the mods..;), Tony Lynch (the woodmats' shop), Nigel Pickering (can't remember the site name, alas), etc., etc., etc.,..;) I have something like 1,100 mats (and I'm picky..;) If you want, I'll draw you up a list of mat sites, but I'll have to have an email addy (IM me), because it's way over 2,000 characters..;)

No problem! Being able to look at your terrain mats have helped me get a better "hold" on terrain mats. I'm not all the way there yet, but eventually I'll break my mental barrier (like I have now with volumetrics) and be able to do good terrain mats (consistently), lol.
