Here's another model I made. I made the flowers and all. I've offered this model (it's a bit large unfortunately) as free stuff, but at Big-i.com only. Drop by for a visit if you like and say hi!

Oops...meant to post the bigger image ;) Regards, Laurie

Hi Laurie--Looks good! I'm having some fun with the traa maker, too. Unfortunately, Big-i is "broken" for me--- I've asked and asked and asked for help from--- hmmm, I can't remember, but they only ever get back to me once, I explain the problem, and then I never hear from them again... It's the only website that I've ever found that simply doesn't work...and I have the absolute latest IE and Netscape browsers... shrug BTW, you do these vase and still life scenes soooo well--- I'm jealous!

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 11:13 AM

Hi Mike, Have you tried recently? We've done some fixes...some folks were having trouble with Netscape. But the site has been totally revamped recently and should work for everybody. Run on over and check. Let me know if you still have problems. Laurie

Hi Laurie, No I hadn't tried recently..actually, I had forgotten all about it, but I just went there, and signed up, and even posted a message. :) I'm glad to see y'all got it going, and I like the familiarity of the new design. Thanks again!

I really like your work Laurie, but why did you make the flower vase an "EXE" file. I think many people are reluctant to download such files based upon past experiences with them setting off anti-virus software. I personally will only download EXE's from Zygote-Daz, mainly because I have no other choice... Why does it require an EXE?...

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 5:05 PM

Making it an .exe file made the file as small as I could make it. Zipping it would barely get it below 10 mb. Laurie

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 5:32 PM

For the cautious, the file is now a .zip. But beware...it is now more than 9 megs. Laurie

Really nice Lily of the Valley stems! :)

Fox-Mulder ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 7:18 PM

Thanks Laurie- I got it in under a minute- mainly due to my trusty Road Runner. The ZIP's work great and I think most people prefer them. Zygote-DAZ mainly use EXE's when they have to explode the files into multiple directories- for people who don't understand the Poser filing system... The high quality of your model work is marvelous and so is your render artwork. I can only dream of being as "classic" and have gone back and looked at your art a number of times for inspiration...

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 7:32 PM

Thanks Fox, that's very nice of you to say. I only tried to get the file size down for folks on dial-up...not everyone is as lucky as we are with our broadband ;)...LOL I try to get my .vob sizes as small as I can without sacrificing quality. That's not always easy, especially with those objects that contain flowers...since I usually use a lot of them, the file sizes tend to get large. Laurie

Hi Laurie... Did you do the flowers and the vase with the Shapemaker program?? Just curious

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 8:15 PM

Nope, flowers were done in Plant Studio :)

MikeJ ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 8:31 PM

Hello. Broadband here too-- waving hand frantically in the air g Umm, one thing though-- I would like to get the vase, but I couldn't find it. As far as I can tell, I was in the right section, but I didn't see a download.... I have a Plant Studio license too, but I have yet to be able to come up with any plants that good...

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 8:37 PM

Hey Mike, It's in the Treasure Chest forum under a topic labled "Laurie A's Treasure Chest". There's a link in there that will take you to my Big-i freebies page. I'm just about to upload a new one...florist's eucalyptus to use in flower arrangements; one green and one red. Laurie

MikeJ ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 8:43 PM

Cool Laurie, thanks---on my way!

Larry F ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 9:10 PM

That looks real nice! Say, would I be under the Mendoza line (baseball season is coming!) knowledge wise if I asked what is "tree maker/trea maker/tea maker" (have seen different spellings) and what all does it do? Thanks.

MikeJ ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 9:36 PM

Hi Larry, Tree Magic Shape Maker is a small application That Rich, aka., "RG" made which does just that-- it makes stumps, logs, tree trunks, and as you can see, many other shapes, which are in .OBJ format, and import into Vue beautifully. He originally posted a 'Stump Maker" program to the Bryce people, but one of our guys found it and then WE were all over it. Then he built the newer version, Tree Magic Shape Maker, which several of us here have been beta testing for him. Last I heard, he was going to put it into Free Stuff soon. :)

Well, I got mine. :) Thanks again, Laurie--- beautiful things like this really come in handy! For example, my Mom's birthday is coming up, and like usual, I'm going to make an original card for her---guess what's going to be on this years' card? *g*

MikeJ ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 10:18 PM

I know, I didn't do it any justice here... that's Spike's "Round Table", BTW... a very nice table with a terrific texture, from the store here.

Daffy34 ( ) posted Sun, 25 March 2001 at 10:20 PM

Wow! That's just so nice. I have a tear in my eye! :) Laurie

RG ( ) posted Mon, 26 March 2001 at 6:49 PM

Hi Larry, Mike pretty much covered all the details about Tree Magic Shape Maker. My plans started out to go from stumps to trunks to trees, but along the way, I discovered it made good flower petals, vases, goblets, drinking glasses and several other shapes. So it's likely to evolve to be less tree focused and more shape focused. As Mike said, it's in beta testing but early comments indicate it's working well so I hope to have posted to free stuff soon. Rich

Larry F ( ) posted Mon, 26 March 2001 at 8:43 PM

Yo Rich, Thanks for that heads up! On reflection I do think I have seen and/or heard of your apparently very fine program before. It seems that it may have gotten lost in a shuffle of learning newly acquired (hell, even oldly acquired in some cases) proggys, language studies, and life in general. This looks really good, though, and I am looking forward to it. If it is going to be for sale, I would be tking a close look at it. Way to go. Larry F
