You can just read the basic run through of the technique in the mag at the book store, lol. But to get all the screenshots, the image maps, the detailed notes, lighting setup, LDRI and the actual Bryce scenefile, yeah, you'll have to buy the magazine. ;o) It's mixing textures and also having the base mesh color show through, with alphas and mat lab settings. Not all that difficult to do, I just enjoy playing around with texturing. AS

We have a large WHSmith in my home City, where I've always wondered how many magazines they 'actually' sell.
I'll be one of those who stand in a 'shoulder-to-shoulder' line facing the mag-rack, looking suspicious, and reading but not buying :-D
AgentSmith, that's an awesome looking mat, and if I like your tutorial, I'll be sure to tap the person standing next to me and say "Hey, I know the guy who wrote that!".

(Very nice mat - that)

The base wood texture is a scan of a hand-cutting board I found in the kitchen. Tweaked of course, to be seamless and look dark. AS

AS, that board is for cutting meat, not hands. :^)
This is not my "second childhood". I'm not finished with the first one yet.

Nothing is sacred in this apartment, if I can't scan it, I'll use my digital camera. One way or another, its all gonna be stuffed into Bryce! AS
