You gotta see this new windows version. It is demo'ed on flash player. PC users take heart. PS. once it loads and pop up windows appear on it, just keep clicking on the close buttons and don't be discouraged. Just keep clicking franically like in real life. (Its a real neat parody of what Windows users are confronted with daily) You must check out every icon and start menu item too. I think its hilarious.

Actually, there is another version of Windows coming out, supposedly 4th Quarter, I think it's one of those 64-bit things (might be 'Longhorn', but there are just too many @#$% 'code words' to keep up with..;)

Hilarious, yeah! But there's something seriously broken in your installation if you experience that daily. :-P

yeah.. I was trying to get my MCP on XP, but as soon as Vista is out, MS will cancel all classes, certifications, withdraw XP from circulation, and 'encourage' all hardware providers to switch to Vista. Or maybe I'm just being paranoid..;)
If you think everyone's out to get you, you're paranoid, what do you call it when someone's out to get everyone?..deep thoughts..;)

That's funny! I loved the Media Player! Yeah, Longhorn was the codename (dumb as it was) - it's Vista for the release. It's their 64bit OS (even though tye have one right now). The trick they're going to have to overcome is that MANY programs are 16-bit (think word processing and office/clerical apps) and if you have a completely optimized 64bit OS and CPU it might not even RECOGNIZE the 16 bit software. That's why both the chips and the various OS's aren't completely optimized for 64bit performance yet. I read a review of the beta version someone got to try out and it was buggy as h---!! They said there was still a LOT to do with it, so it doesn't bode well as they talk about it being released later this year!

Cyba_Storm ( ) posted Mon, 20 February 2006 at 4:07 AM

I think the answer to your question Pakled, is MICROSOFT.

pakled ( ) posted Mon, 20 February 2006 at 8:21 AM

true, true..;) To be honest, I learned not to go with the first release of an OS back with Dos 3.0..;) kaff kaff..;) I'll wait until they've shaken the cockroaches out of the code..;)

That is AWESOME. My roommate is really into Linux and hates Windows; he'll get a kick out of this. The really sad part is that, according to this, it looks like they're going to fix a lot of the bugs in the current version. =)
