You can't ADD anything, you just change what's already there. The only plant I think would suit your needs is the bonny clump from C3D, because it has 4 subsets: a stem ( always handy to have one), leaves, a heart and petal subsets. All materials can be changed to achieve your sunflowers. Don't get the colourful bonnies though, because the petal colour is random.
Thanks for the replies I bought the Bonnies yesterday (the colourful ones though!) The issue with them is that the leaves are all clumped together at the base of the plant. I need the leaf structure to be the same as the Alocasia but with the heart and petals of the bonnie. What defines how the petals are arranged from the stem? Cheers Nick I
You won't be able to change the petal arrangment, you can change their size the way they curl up/downwards, and a few other minor things The leaves are not clumped at the base of the plant, not for the one I have on screen now. You may want to generate other bonnies an check how the leaves are arranged, and when you get one with leaves arranged differently, work on this one. remember, these are SolidGrowth plants, so each generated bonny will be different from the others. But this random parameter, we don't have access to it! Or is it the "randomness" parameter in the subsets that is used? When you have achieved the look you want, generate other varieties of the newly created plant, and see what you get, then again, choose to save the one that looks closer to what you had in mind.
Exactly, you are completely limited. The plant editor is not an organic modeller (..., humm reminds me of something!), it just lets you edit the plants in your scene, or create new plants but entirely based on existing ones. You can't add anything, you can remove subsets by cheating ( zero size, or 100% transparent material), you can change materials, but you can't add geometry.
sound very frustrating i think eon should update this especialy in the pro version.
for
some free stuff i made

Hi I have posted a similar question on the e-on forums but as has been pointed out there, their sites are running very slow and I can't seem to access them! Anyway, I am trying to build a sunflower as a SolidGrowth plant. I need them to react to the environment and wind. I have analysed all the different plants and can not for the life of me figure out how to go about doing this. There does not seem to be a way to edit the subsets (as in: add a subset) from within the plant editor. The closest plant is the Alocasia in terms of stem and leaves, but I need to add a hearts subset and a petals subset. Is this possible or is it a coding thing, in which case i'm out!!! Thanks Nick
