Just a quick sketch of an object I'd like to model. A person stands inside it to get rejuvenated. Still not sure what kind of hatch opening to use on the front. Been watching 2001 again.

It's held up by a chain while the hanging tubes do their thing. People can watch from the platform if they like. I see a lot of these things laying horizontally flat on wheels (like in Fifth Element). But I don't recall seeing too many placed vertically, or in hanging positions. Does anyone here know more about these things before I attempt to model away?

I'd get a pedestal or base under it so it can stand if set down. And of course, the requisite blinking lights and monitoring devices. Man, there aren't enough hours in the day to play with sci-fi stuff! :D

Just playing on my lunch break. See what you started Shonner! I've got the opening including the location of the head so you wouldn't have to stand up into it. Ok, back to work.

Very good. Mine was going to have a seperate pop-hatch for the head area. The outer shape of this thing came from the sarcophagus in my studio I have yet to translate.

It looks like a sarcophagus. How ironic.

No need to think outside the box....
    Just make it invisible.

A test render of a bare scene. No details. Trying to get an environ mood of some kind. Mostly an experiment in lighting. I used Anything Goos for the edges, Wireframe Pro for the "opened to space" half of the room, and StarBright for the background. Elevation on the Y plane was used to seperate the room in half for Anything Goos and Wireframe Pro to use. And Wireframe Pro was copied into the alpha channel to let the background through.

Personally, I like the "no details" look!
