"What 3D Program Should I buy?" Not one person here can really tell you what's best for you, as everyone has their own taste in workflow. Try the demo or learning edition of the program you're interested in, this is the only way to find out which programs you like.
Thanks, Teyon! Nice idea, and I'm honored to have made the list. One question, though: why didn't you make the links directly clickable?
What I mean is something like this:

mostly because I'm clueless with HTML. I thought about it after the fact...I could've just copied stuff from the header and replaced the text with what I wanted but I was at work and didn't have that kind of time. I'll try and fix that now though:
For those wanting to get into vehicle modeling, Moebius87 has a great thread which breaks down some of the thought process involved:
If you're looking to get into character work and want to model a woman, odf's thread shows off excellent wireframe images that can help you in seeing where you should go with certain parts of the body.

Here's a neat Hexagon related thread that contains a link which illustrates the creation of a chair. It's really well made and the renders are wonderfull. Have a look.

Finally, we have a thread by Poisen, which illustrates the process of modeling within ZBRUSH2. Of particular note is the use of ZSpheres and how simple the base mesh is before increasing its polys for detail painting.

With so much talent in these parts, I've decided to start highlighting some favs of mine. Every week (or so) I'll be posting some of my favorite threads as a source of inspiration and learning for all. My choices are based on the quality of the model and/or how helpful the thread is to learning to model. Don't fret if I miss your post...just means you could be picked next time, as I'm pciking threads from day one of the forum on foward. So without further ado, here are the TTW for this week. I'll come back later and let you know why these were chosen, so you can see the benefit of each.
