For some time now i do my render of poser model in vue but vue can't import morph target so i seriously think about buying carrara. But the fac tcarrara don't seem to do multi-layer render bug me. I use it a lot to fix the shadow. I do mustly, at the moment, animation with composition in real footage. Any solution? I also found some talk about a good tutorial of HDRi in carrara. I try HDRi in vue without much succes. But can't find the link about the tutorial anymore. Did it still existe on theweb? Shadu

Hi Shadu, Have you tried the g-buffers and Alpha masks in Carrara? I think they'll provide what you are looking for. There are some options missing for layers that could be used to create Ambient Occlusion. However, since Carrara can do that internally, those aren't really required. If you are looking for a specific image solution, please post what you are trying to do - I'm sure that we can figure out a solution1 ;) For any adjuments beyond the Carrara G-buffers, both Avid and Final Cut Pro have some excellent dynamic filters to complete the process. In vue i can render two image of all my render (even more but make it sample). One is my model without any shadow and the other is the shadow of my model alone. By putting the two together in combustion, AE or photoshop (shadow layer on top with multiply transfert) i can ajust the softness of my shadow and his opacity very quickly and without make a other long render. Is it possible in carrara or did a plugin can permit that? I saw a python script doing that for poser by exemple. Shadu

Carrara does not have a specific, exportable g-buffer for shadow. :-P
