It takes a while to load, but the details are quite nice. Artwork on the walls are worth checking out. A virtual art gallery like this has some really interesting potential...

If you are new to all this, you can learn more here about the software, what avatars are, and how to make stuff for these new virtual worlds...

It all sounds wonderful, Fox, but since I don't use IE, I'm out of luck on this one. :) Kate the IE hater

Kate, The plugin supports both IE and Netscape.

Hmm...I was told you needed IE 5. I'll have to take a look at it if it supports netscrape.

Having used a broadband connection for most of my cruising, with ALL the special rendering features turned on, it is a pretty interesting experience... You need to get good at moving your mouse and the CTRL, ALT and Shift keys to really move around fast in all directions. The other neat trick is to release your gravity restraints so you can soar up into the "atmosphere" like a bird... There is SERIOUS potential for either websites with nude hi-rez Poser Babes doing pole dancing, or airplanes and helicopter avatars all flying around engaging in near-misses (keep collision detection on). Since its all such a major waste of time, its certain to be a big hit, especially among office workers and college students...
