Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Feb 24 11:54 pm)
OT maybe I am afraid. Can props or conforming figures be "glued" to a figure? Gluing a hat, shoes, or other clothes to a figure so it/they don't appear as separate props and so they are fixed on the figure so as not to fall off say in the case of a hat or shoes? ----------------------------------------------------------- Also a respectful tutorial request. After all this time I still find working with "indoor" sets frustrating, especially with multiple rooms and/or fixed walls. Can you impart wisdom on moving figures, props, and cameras around in an indoor scene and how to light them :) Someday? :)
Hi momo,
You're not totally OT and I appreciate the inquiry.
re:"Can props or conforming figures be "glued" to a figure?"
Um, yes, it is called parenting. ;=]
Actually, if one wanted to "glue" a prop to a hand, one could "glue," i.e., export together, the prop and the hand (body part) together and then import the new single object (hand with prop) and then create a new figure using the new "hand" as a body part and then rebone the figure.
... Parenting the prop to the body part would be much easier.

Thanks Geep. I'll try to think of how to answer the 1,2, and 3. The sets I like to use are those by Stringy all of which I love but are difficult in some instances since it is difficult to sort out the props that constitute the various room components: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=17906 And several by ratracer I find somewhat easier to use, the large ones that is... his Cheap Hotel is beautiful but difficult to navigate: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?vendor=178024 I try to move things around using top view but the orthogonal views are very difficult for me to control... I get things like vertical or lateral shifts when I try to zoom in. With my other camera s in a scene I have trouble getting full figures with out tremendous fish eye effect. Also my cameras seem either sluggish or zip right out of control... I wish hither/thither worked in the renders :( I'll try to think of other scenes or maybe show you some birds eye vantages of some scenes so you can see what is involved... maybe I can find a free set to point you to... Thanks.
