Hello to anyone that can help me For some reason at some times when I post, my comments do not get credited to me or my log on handle; Wolfspirit instead they get credited to a log on handle of ???

I do not know who ??? is

Why is this happening? And it has happened yet again on a post I made on one of my own writings to another reader/writer as you can view it at Intermission

Thank you for your time and effort to whom ever it is that helps me to correct this problem.

I took a look at the "???" you mentioned in your post and the ID itself isn't you. Out of curiosity I went to look in the Community Center Forum to see if there were similar problems. I suggest you post your concern there as I see in that forum people are posting other problems with the site. To me lately I think there has been more problems with the site in the past 2 months or so. Ever since they changed things, like when you click on a posting it opens in a new window. I never noticed it doing that before. Recently I've received an email saying I got a Gallery Comment and went to look and there was no new comment. I even took off the option to receive notification by email in my members options and still I get emails. I took this option off because I was getting notified sometimes 2 to 3 days after the comment was posted and it was becoming annoying with duplicated emails as well. I think there should be a forum for site related problems only or a site status info page so that members aren't frustrated with wonder. Hope you're able to find out what's up. -S.

Hey Wolfspirit, The same thing happened to me a couple of months ago when I was using a network computor at my work. What I found out was the computor had logged me out because I had taken to much time reading and commenting on the same page. After posting I realized I was shown as a visitor to renderosity instead of a member. Hope this helps, Ben

Thank you Shabetei tremendously, for your help and suggestions as to how to maybe solve the problem I will let you know if I find out anything new as well as thank you Dido6, I shall be looking forward to anything else you find out as well Diana. Ben, thank you also, for your response in sharing of an odd experienceI too have been logged out before for idle just recently in the last two months as Shabetei graciously explained that some changes are being and have been made. Although usually if I had tried to post when logged out for idle, it would revert me back to the log in page, which never bothered me to much as thus with the little knowledge I have on these things I understand that particular situation to be a security measure. Although, from my understanding of it, it is not the computer that logs you out, yet the site that does it. I could be wrong, yet these are my thoughts as understandings at this point. Although, I deeply thank you, for sharing that it had happened to you as well, because at first when it began, I was unsure of why the sudden changeand or whether or not it was just me it was happening to. Truly thank you all greatly for your assistance and information, as I do sincerely appreciate it.

Instant Message from StaceyG: Hi Wolf,

I spoke with the programmers and here is their thoughts as to what happened during that comment.

"He must have taken long to post that his session timed out and the system by default would enter the username of "???" in this scenario. I'd say it took him longer than 15-20 minutes to post his comment."

Hope this helps...

Stacey

Thank you Stacey, it has helped, as well as it has informed myself and others, to have their comments prepared in advance, so that we dont risk timing out and having a artist by the handle of ??? end up with our individual comments. As well as to the artist that retains the handle ??? my apologies that my comment/s has become yours, and since there is no way for me to correct said situation as it is Please for me as well as yourself, feel free to delete it, because I cant and I will at a later time repost my comments entirely and exactly as they are with my handleWolfspirit attached appropriately as should be.

Thank you again sincerely to all whom have given their assistance in this matter.

Nobody has claimed "???" yet; I sent a message to it and it bounced: No such user.

There is no user for ??? it occurs when the session someone has times out while they are typing their comment. Diana
