How do you make sub categories under the category USER..Byce 5.5 ?

Go to the objects folder in the Bryce directory. You will need to make a copy of your user file (not the folder) onto the desktop or something (thats if you dont have any empty files to use). Rename the user file on the desk top and reinsert it in the user folder. When you start Bryce the new sub category should be in place. Like I mentioned before, I you had to use your user file (or any other object file) you will probably want to delete the models in the folder to make it empty. You can also do this for your textures:) Hope this helps! If it doesnt do a search on "Zhann" in Renderosity; this topic was covered by the mod a while back. Better yet just email Zhann if you get stuck:) Michael

IIRC Zhann also has some blank file structures available for download at Zhann's Place

----------

Toolset: Blender, GIMP, Indigo Render, LuxRender, TopMod, Knotplot, Ivy Gen, Plant Studio.

You don't need any copies or blank file structures. In Windows Explorer navigate to Bryce 5.5/Presets/Objects and create a new folder. Name it what you like and it will appear in Bryce.

Many thanks...I got it to work. Bob

Yup you'll have a new folder alright, but unless you have a blank preset there won't be anything in the folder to save your presets to....=) Just download the blank presets, save to a folder of your choice, open the zip, find the preset type you want, objects, mats, etc., copy the preset, rename it, and place in the USER folder, there's your new blank subcategory, ready to fill.....=)

Sorry Zhann, but it works.

All i did to add to my lists was to go to the Bryce's preset/objects folder and right clicked with mouse and chose 'New folder', did this 10 times and changed the names to suit what I was going to save, ie; Buildings, Sci-fi, terrains and so on......when opening up Bryce, all the folders were there waiting for me to fill.....that was it. When you want to save any object select as normal from the 'Create' which opens the models, select the bottom left hand drop down arrow and choose your folder to save in.
