Subject: Morph Manager update

I have the obj exporter problem solved for P4 characters and can now export the morph targets for P4 characters. The program does need some polish and I am still having problems with transfering props. For those who are simply dying for the obj exporter feature and can live with a beta, I can create an intermediate version with crippled prop support by this weekend but I'll only do this if there's enough interest.

Yes Yes Yes Yes Yes..... do it!!! Morpher still isn't working for my poser 4 cr2's and this may be a good substitute. -Gabe-

gsalas, If you have a specific CR2 that's giving you problems you could zip it up and email to me so I can try and load it under the debugger. I can load the stock CR2 P4 files just fine. The file has to be under 2 megs for hotmail.

How ironic I was just thinking today how it would be nice if Morph manager could move props between cr2 too! That would be a tremendous help (especially when you've replaced a body part with a prop) It can be tedious to repeat such things over and over.

Consider me interested! :) The props transfer sounds like an awsome new feature. Thanks again for making this great program! -Trav

Definitely!!!!!!! Beta is fine, just fine, love your program! 'Course, if it eats my hard disk, it won't be much fun, but that's hardly likely. Go for it! FishNose

Another thing - I had a couple of ideas about possible changes to your prog, in case you're interested. 1. Don't bother with the popup confirmation for every MT copy - it's just an extra, unnecessary mouse click. 2. If I've expanded the one cr2 to see the names of the morphs, after a copy between cr2's, the tree collapses again and has to be re-opened every time. If I copy a hundred MT's or so, it gets a bit repetitive! 3. Show the number of vertices in each MT, as in Morpher. Often useful for identifying MT's or seeing whether two with identical names are actually different (e.g. the ubiquitous 'shape1') This is a list of small niggles, NOT criticism. Thanks for your work! FishNose

Re: Fishnose I've already incorporated most of these. You can now set an "idiot" preference to confirm every action or turn it off for no prompts. I'll take a look at that collapsing tree problem. I think I know what it is. I am also putting in a properties option to show all properties of a morph target or prop and to let you set some of them like hidden, dial setting etc... The # of verts will be part of this. For those who were asking I'm also putting in a subtraction option in the morph combine feature so you can subtract out a morph target as well. I'll probably have this all done by Friday except for props which will be in a buggy state. I may just disable the feature for now. I'd hate to screw up somebody's cr2 file.

Fantastic! You're going to save us all from certain insanity! Thanks Mason. FishNose

How about a button or command that will copy all of the morphs or perhaps selected morphs from one figure to the other. I am no programer, so I don't know what this involves, but it sure would make transfering 50+ morphs from figure to figure alot easier :) Thanks again Mason for making one of the best Poser utilities! -Trav

A variation of Trav's suggestion above - a rubberband selection that can hilite any group of MTs for copy or delete or whatever. Or the standard Windows selection, using shift or ctrl with a click on the MTs. Otherwise, a selection of all the MTs connected to a particular body part. Do-able? I don't suppose so....... seems like a tall order. FishNose
