I didnt know if anyone has heard anything official or unofficial as to whether they are working on any new figures along these lines. If so has there been any screen shots or information posted anywhere? Thanks in advance! -object22

The only word on V4 so far is that she's due sometime this year.

What's in the linked newsletter is all that's publicly available.

What can they do? They will always have to see it's (backwards) compatible with Poser's outdated joints system. You would be surprised how many Poser4 users that are still not thinking about upgrading.

The big sale discounts on Daz originals in recent weeks, along with a lack of new Daz originals, lead many to think tha v4 might be closer than we think

The rumor is the goal was at the end of March Madness or within March. Daz always does a figure release at the end of a sale. Just rumor though. Just have to wait and see. Came from several sources though.

But the V3 and M3 Base are still down as free until at least May. Not a strong indicator, DAZ are still selling V2 and M2. I could see a V4 being more like the V1->V2 changes than V2->V3, because there could be a lot changing with MS unleashing Vista (and killing XP Home), and a possible Poser 7. DAZ maybe need a new version for marketing reasons, but can't afford to waste effort on a totally new figure. Of course, they have DAZ Studio,

Ahhh.....Vista. Save the pennies for hardware upgrades, kids. One of the geek sites got their hands on beta 2; this bugger consumes 800meg of system ram -idle-. The install footprint is 7 gigabytes. I don't even want to think about all the problems the nifty neat new 3D effects Areoglass desktop is going to cause conflicting with all the happy 3D apps that people use.....

I'm not bothered by Vista, but the announced end of security updates for XP Home, at the end of the year, that's a piece of A1 stupidity. It doesn't matter what you or I do; it's all the people happily buying pre-installed XP Home on their new PC, relying on automatic updates, and being left vulnerable to new exploits.
