Subject: 3D models imported from 3DS

a website: www.turbosquid.com sells 3d models....and the "heavier ones" as in cityscape are what i am looking for. the formats are varied but i am looking at 3DS which does import in to carrara. However these are heavy: 17megs etc...anybody have any experience with such heavy models and importing?

Shouldn't be a problem. However, models from TS need to be modified by having their x coordinates reset upon .3ds export. If you purchase the model, advise them in the comment box or contact them prior to purchase so they can make the neccessary adjustments.
