I am simply amazed at how awesome all of the art is here on this site (in the gallery). I have been doing Poser for about 7 months, and some Bryce and have just ordered Vue 5 pro. As I looked at the Vue gallery and the Poser Gallery today, I wondered if people actually sell their creations short of selling figures and clothes. Meaning do you ever print your work, frame it, and put it up for sale at a gallery outside of the computer world? I am thinking of doing this and putting it up in my house! (that is if I get good enough) heheh

good heavens, no..;) it gets done, though..I've hear tell that (OT) people sell 'Bryce spheres over water' (the Bryce equivalent of NVIATWAS) at flea markets, etc. There are some pros (people who get paid for making art), but I've only come close once, which was excitement enough for me..;)

I sell about 25 percent of my images, most of them over a gallery that offers large canvas-prints via eBay, some over my own shop - and, as pakled mentioned, I'm doing art on request for that gallery. The funny thing is, that people buy it - but very few over the retail shop of the gallery, most of them prefer to purchase online. It seems that people are emberassed when buying pin-up and fetish art while facing real people (that are used to sell this kind of images) and like better to do it anonymus - although they pay a lot for shipping. The major group of those that come to the store are buyers that want the prints for their business (gastronomy and, yes, red-light things). Oh, yes, before you ask: Nope, I'm not rich ;o) I'm hardly able to pay the rent for my flat... But at least I have a job and like it. I've tried hard to find a gallery that is interested, most of the galerists answered: "Nice, but so... realistic! Can't you do something abstract in the fashionable interior-colors?!"...

The big money, if it can be called that, in the 3d digital world is mostly in animation. I know a guy who freelances his animation skills out to some studios and has been making over $100,000 a year. He also does 3d anime (animated japanese adult stuff) on the side for some adult websites, and has been making good money doing that too. I don't know where he gets the time, but his work is very good. That's my reason for wanting to learn how to animate. I got bills to pay! hehe.
