Hi! Got a question or three...

Any experience with this product & how it might behave in Poser6 running 1.5 ghz with 1 gb of ram?

After much browsing this is the BEST!
It's perfect for a project I'm about to start.

The bonus of this is the under deck rooms & ready installed props. WOW!

It's description says in poser it is only one mesh.
Is that a real Big drawback?

Is Making custom textures difficult?

Thanks for any and all replies.

Scott

Only one mesh - no, it's not really a problem. You can always use the Grouping Tool to decompose the ship into multiple props. Just create a new group, add the groups you need for your scene, spawn a prop fron that new group (it'll copy over the texture maps and materials it needs), and delete the original prop from your scene. You could even save the new prop to your prop library for reuse. 390k polys: yes, it IS heavy on Poser 6. I tried. Don't expect to use this ship plus an entire crew of Millenium 3 figures - won't work!

Last year when I was working as a tester for the marketplace, that was one of the irems I tested. It is very resource intensive. With your system specs you should be able to handle it, but it will still render slowly. But it is one of the best ship models I've seen. If I remember right it even has a captain's cabin interior.

The product page says you cannot use the grouping tool because it is only one mesh. If someone has successfully used the grouping tool on this model, perhaps they should tell the creator to change the copy on the product page. I have not used this model, but love the details on it, especially the cool looking sails. I am waiting for somebody to come up with a morphing ocean wave model.8^)

I bought this model when I had P5 and couldn't get it to work, locked up all the time, haven't tried it yet in P6 but it works fine in Vue4.

"I am waiting for somebody to come up with a morphing ocean wave model" What about Becco's UniFlow?

I have Seatraveler and used it in poser5
http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=945942&Start=1&Artist=Mint&ByArtist=Yes

It needed some adjustment with the textures(bumpmaps)and diffuse colors, imported it to poser as a mesh, so it had diffuse maps ready but no bumps, but it was not a big deal. Seatraveler is exceptional ship with lots of details and you are right best out in MP. I also needed to scale it a bit to get rightful porpotions for poser people, when i had it done i saved it to my library as a new prop, so next time no need for adjusting. My pc is about same capacity as yours, rendering will take some time. its so fantastic ship i wanted to make render from every view LOL

I bought it. I loaded it. I rendered it. Then I explored it. ") I don't know how this will go but I'm thinking I could create Transparencies to get better camera views in the hull. Either way it's going to work just great for what I need it for. Haven't pushed the envelpe yet as far as rendering goes but I am most definetly happy with what I've rendered so far & the purchase for sure. Thanks Huge for the positive thoughts. Scott

What is Becco's UniFlow? I looked in the marketplace here but didn't see UniFlow. Thanks! Peggy
