I would recommend for you to purchase Hexagon it is a much better modeler and check at Eovias site. They have a companion upgrade offer and your price is $169.00 Hexagon 1.2 Companion Upgrade - English / French - Download Companion Upgrade from valid licenses of Eovia Carrara any version, Amapi Designer, Amapi Pro, Amapi 3D v6, except free versions.

Go with Hexagon for modeling if you have any version of Carrara already.

Hexagon is the way to go for organic modeling and character models. I just bought version 1.2 with the free update to version 2 coming in April. The new version looks amazing! I was thinking I would have to pay $500 eventually for Z Brush for it's cool displacement mapping brushes, but Hexagon will offer similar tools for a fraction of the cost. Plus the benifits of UV mapping/unwrapping for texture maps rather than importing to Carrara to do the UV mapping. You can always upgrade to Pro later, but I think Hexagon is the best bang for the buck right now.
