I was working on a model tonight..and somehow one of her eyes went a bit whacky. One eye is..odd. I've tried reposing, changing eyes, changing light. In the end, shes still got this electric-lookin eyeball. Any suggestions? Thanks. Myst

Can you post your material room settings as a screenshot please? Preferably for both eyes.

it may be the cornea that's set wrong.

mystmaiden ( ) posted Sun, 12 March 2006 at 1:58 PM

As far as the cornea morphs..they are both set at one. Shall I delete iris screen shots and add the cornea ones. I have looked at them..they seem the same, but I may be overlooking something. Mystmaiden

left cornea may have a non-black ambient or some transparency glitch. post screenshots.

Here's the cornea screen shots, I really appreciate the help.

and the other

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Sun, 12 March 2006 at 4:31 PM

it all checks out o.k. maybe some kind of lighting/IBL/AO glitch.

Acadia ( ) posted Sun, 12 March 2006 at 6:00 PM

I was having a horrid time with the MFG from RDNA. After trying all kinds of things, it turns out it was the lighting I was using. Maybe try a different lighting... and see what you get. I find that the free Rose Gardens one from RDA worked for me.

Miss Nancy thanks for having a look, I appreciate it Acadia, I've tried several different light sets and poses, but I am willing to try another. This is so puzzling. Thanks for the suggestion Mystmaiden

KarenJ ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 12:43 AM

Something is off with the corneas. They shouldn't be previewing grey like that. It could just be the angle of the lights striking the eye, though. You've got her dead-on to camera in the shot. Does it change if you twist her head slightly away from camera?

Nothing seems to help. I've posed and reposed.. changed lights. I did discover that unplugging the reflection on both eyes..makes them both glow, if thats any clue. Here's the latest shot of her. I note the left eye also looks phyiscally flat across the surface, but the morphs are still there..

mystmaiden ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 1:18 AM

Oh I did flash on the fact I had used Bishonen eye reflections. I've used them before on other than Bishonen eyes and model..to no ill effect.

mystmaiden ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 1:27 AM

Is it possible to simply delete the eyes without deleting the model..and start over on just the eyes? A very puzzled Mystmaiden

Acadia ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 2:53 AM

That glow in the last image is kind of nify :) Don't know how to make them natural though. I suck at Poser 6 lighting and Nodes are my bane, LOL

Yhis is actually done with poser 5 I did save one separate view with the glowing eyes to play with later to see if I can come up with something fun for it. The other copy I am trying to fix. i sort of liked this face..so maybe its salvagable Mystmaiden

Virtua36 ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 6:10 AM

These are the steps that I make, when applying eye textures. 1. Turn the diffuse color black. 2. Disconnect the color texture from the diffuse and specular channels. There don't need to be a texture in there at all. :-)

mystmaiden ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 6:37 AM

Thanks much Virtua, I'll definitely try it

mystmaiden ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 8:39 AM

Well, however I did that, I have successfully done it again. It happened when I changed eye colors on another modek. :( I did try unplugging the color texture..so far it has reduced the problem but not solved it. If nothing else I am consistent. Mystmaiden

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 12:40 PM

eyeglow means non-zero ambient. meaning a colour not (0,0,0) in rgb. we can see the ambient values are zero, but maybe the black ambient colour is not pure black for some component.

mystmaiden ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 3:55 PM

Success at last, I did what Virtua said and it's fixed on both models. Yhanks for the explantion Miss Nancy, I think its beginning to clear up for me. I'm not entirely sure what rgb is though. Thank you everyone who looked at this and helped me sort it out, I am most appreciative.

mystmaiden:
RGB = Red, Green, Blue. The values that make up colour in the 2D/3D world.

R=0, G=0, B=0 = black.
R=255, G=255, B=255 = white.
For pure red, set R=255, G & B to zero.
For pure green, set G=255, R & B to zero...
Etc.
I could go on, but I'm not sure how much you want to learn of the basics (or if you just misunderstood a previous post and actually know all this stuff from a different perspective)

If you want to know more, play around in any 2D/3D apps colour-assignment dialogue for a while...

Cheers,
Diolma
Edited to add: Or ask here again, and I'll do my best to explain (tomorrow..)
