Subject: Copying Victoria 3 SAE from Poser 4 to 5

timor ( ) posted Mon, 13 March 2006 at 10:28 AM · edited Sun, 24 November 2024 at 6:33 PM

How can I do this? Surely it should be easy? Whenever I try I get asked to find b Mil Woman obj,(which I can't).

In fact transferring/copying any of my characters from P4 to 5 is long and difficult and usually doesn't work. What is the most efficient way of doing it, because I'm obviously going wrong!

Frustrated!

Point P5 at your P4 Runtime.

Tried that. All I get is a 3D cross which P5 thinks is the figure.

Look into your Runtime:Geometries:DAZPeople it should be there

Or if you're going to use all your Poser content in Poser 5 just copy or move your entire runtime to your poser 5 folder. G

Still no good. I'v copied the DAZPople folder to P5 Runtime and also to the figures library. There is now a heading/folder "DAZ People" in P5 figures but nothing happens when I click on it. I'm obviously doing something really basic wrong!

You also need to copy the Geometries folder from P4. That's where V3 really is.

Yes, the folder DAZPeople, which contains obj files, belongs into Geometries. The easiest way would have been to make your P4 installation as an external Runtime of your P5 installation as advised by SamTherapy. Make it easy, go to DAZ and download V3 again. So you will have the newest version SAE.

Just reinstall Vicky 3 and her supporting files into your new Poser installation. It's the fastest solution.

Thanks for all your help, people. The problem seems to be solved now. I only use Poser occasionaly and trying something new can be difficult. Thanks.
