Vue F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 29 1:34 pm)
I currently own a FireGL v5100 and I'm quite sodisfacted about overall performance and compatibility with various 2D and 3D sw, altought it's powered by the quite old x800 GPU I believe Quadro and FireGL cards are more targeted for particular 3D sw. like Autocad, Catia, SolidWorks etc. You pay more to have an optimized OpenGL driver that give no more speed but better compatibility and visualization precision. In Vue (and many other apps) you get better performance by using any modern consumer card much more powerful and less expensive. A question I've about consumer card is which one show a better OpenGL support, ATi or Nvidia ? Cheers, Mario

ShinyLeprechaun posted a similar question, but instead of putting it in that thread, I thought it best to ask in a new thread - might get lost as it's a new question. I have an nVidia 7800 GT/OC - does anyone know if there would be a difference in Vue's performance if I bought something like a Quadro or FireGL card? Mine has OpenGL but would one of those mentioned simply do it better/faster/help with renders, etc.? -Lew :-
