Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 26 1:43 pm)
You might try using a Wave instead of a magnet, if you want a complicated shape. Hit Object : Create Wave on the main menu. Then scale the Wave Zone so it includes only the area you want to affect. Then fiddle with the Rotation of the Wave itself, the Wavelength, and the Phase until you get the wiggle you want. (Generally those are the main adjustments.) Finally, hit Object: Spawn Morph Target to turn the shape into a morph.

rrrrghh...well, I've created the wave and think I have scaled the zone as I want and placed it over the area of the lip I want to affect...but when I go to the wave object itself and fiddle with all those dials for rotation, phase, etc...nothing seems to happen ;/~ I'm hopeless! I'm even trying to follow along in the Poser 6 manual but I just can't seem to make anything happen...I've been fiddling for 1/2 hour or more...geeze Louise, I know I have to be doing something wrong...anyone with patience still wanting to offer pointers, will be appreciated!! ;)~ Karen

well, I see a tiny little something happening, but nothing near what I'm wanting...I can't make the left side of the bottom lip, where I think I have the "zone" centered around, go back towards the inner mouth so it is more inside under the top teeth... I have to run to town to art class now, so I'll check back later tonight and see if there are any more tips or pointers in the right direction...thanks! :D

Try moving the Wave (the thing that looks like a piece of used chewing gum) closer to the zone. As you pull it around, you will see dramatic things happening!

one last question tho...I spawned as morph target, and saw it save a dial under "Other" called Wave1, but it also saved a dial also under "Morph" as I named it, BiteLip...when I adjust the "Wave1" dial to 1, it is the morph I just created...when I dial the BiteLip under Morph, it's not the morph I created using the deformer...weird... I guess I'm confused, because the manual said I could now delete my deformer, which I did (after I save the pz3) but then the morph "Wave1" disappeared too and the BiteLip morph dial was still wrong... I read and saw I have to save the original figure back to the library so that when I open it that dial will be there...so I reopened the pz3 and saved Miki back to figures before I deleted the deformer, and when I reopened it that dial was there...why does the "Wave1" dial work but the "BiteLip" dial doesn't...

I have Miki and want to have her bite her bottom lip for a sad expression...I don't know how to explain this next part perfectly, but the lower lip is also somewhat "deformed" or "wavy" for lack of a better description...where say the left half of the bottom lip is more drawn in and under the top teeth than the right side of the bototm lip... is there some way in Poser 6 to deform lips over and above the usual "smile" or "frown" and similar morph dials? I already have used the "jaw shift down" dial on Miki and have achieved the upper teeth sort of biting on the lower lip, but I don't know how I'm going to alter the bottom lip to achieve the rest of the effect I want... I know I'm not probably giving an accurate description of what I want to do, but hope someone can understand...thanks! Karen :D
