Almost all of bazze's aircraft (and some Gunpoint models) are for sale at Vanishing Point.
VanishingPoint... Advanced 3D Modeling Solutions
Well, there is a late war Spitfire 14 out there, that was modelled after scale plans, so all dimensions are accurate.
The cockpit door opens and can be locked and the canopy actually first lifts and then slides back.
Cockpit controls are moveable.
All rudders and flaps work including the cooler flaps of the underwing radiators.
The landing gear raises and loweres, and there are four and five blade props each with adjustable pitch and different blur settings to simulate varying speeds.
Of course it is fully textured also.
The only problem is the price.
It can be downloaded for free at posetteforever.com. ^-^

Let's see there's several of them in the MP I've seen a JU-88 Stuka, 2 versions of the Bf-109 a P-51 Mustang, P-38 Lightning, and a P-47 Thunderbolt.
I also found a free Japanese Torpedo Bomber here

On the big bombers, it might be possible to use multiple figures/props for the interior. I have, a few times, seen inside large military aircraft, and you can't really see all the interior at once. The Lancaster Navigator and W/Op positions are pretty much invisible from outside, for instance. Some way of opening up the fuselage, a little like a film set, would be useful, but it all gets complicated. I know there's a guy out there working on RAF aircrew uniforms, though I don't know what there is for the USAAF.
Yes, the bombers are two seperate figures, one exterior and one interior. If you have a strong enough machine, you can load both at once, but if you are doing only interiors, you only need to load the interior, and vice versa for the exterior. Still working on the whole set, but it looks like it may be three figures, because there are some things that are common to the interior and the exterior, like the windows. And yes, the Lancaster is divided into 4 quarters, so you can make sections invisible for filming and posing characters.

Sorry, I don't mean to say negative things about other peoples' models, but the linked picture is what a B17 looks like. The one in the market place is cool, but it is not historically accurate, and many things, like the very destinctive tailfin shape, are totally wrong.

The Numen that Carmen made is one truly awesome model. Wish I had made that. :-) The problem with making historical planes, tanks, vehicles, etc, is that you are working from blueprints, pictures and plastic models, and those things are not always exactly right themselves. For the work I am doing on the b17 I actually went to an airshow and climbed around inside a real one taking pictures, and I managed to get hold of some manufacturers blueprints, so mine may be a little closer to the real thing, if my modelling skills match my ambition, lol.

I am looking for a plane from WWII... It would be great if it was free and had a texture and obj file. But I realize that this may not be possible. Thanks for any ideas!!
