I was hoping we could see some winding roads from around the world?? Come on, let's see some ok? This shot was taken in Eastern Washington.

Not as winding as yours... and not much of a road, but...

Great idea for a Simon,Akemi.Your shot has such lovely colors, and Twisted, yours looks just like I picture Trinidad. This is the only winding road I have, taken in Scotland last summer,on the road to Inverness.Too bad you can't see how really really winding it was...it was full of dips and sudden turns...but this was one of the only safe places to pull over...I know I should've taken more shots but that would've meant stopping, and I was having waaaay too much fun driving on it,lol.

Super idea...just wish I had some good photos to add. Looks through my collection and don't really have any truly winding roads. Will gently curving do? ;o] Lovely photos everyone!

Not the UK !

3DGuy ( ) posted Wed, 22 March 2006 at 11:47 AM

Nongo: it's actually a loch, not a river. Margana: if I remember correctly it's close to Lochgilphead traveling north on the A816 towards Oban

Hmmm I have only straight roads in files here.....Have to try...
Anyone ever been to Chuckanut drive...
that is a wow road.
Love twisties for driving.

The road is long
With many a winding turn
That leads us to who knows where

is what is in my head now

Nice one everybody. The road down to Loch Maree from the view piont. Had trouble with shot, as you can see, the old usual, half the shot in bright sunlight and the forground in shade. Not a good photo but does show the road. Steve

nongo ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 12:27 AM

Margana ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 12:36 AM

Yes it is Scotland, North West coast, far north west. Not really a blast to drive in the summer as the road is single track with passing places, it can take 15 mins to get down on a summers day. Winter, less than 5 mins. All the white signs you can just see are all the passing places. Steve

Margana ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 12:57 AM

Oooh you're right Steve, that doesn't sound like much fun at all,not in the summer at least. Is it tourist traffic that's around there at that time?

A winding road

nongo ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 2:51 PM

It sure does wind right around the corner there, but Jane, where was this taken??? It's part of the fun, to see where these roads are coming from???

tojanetoo ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 3:31 PM

nongo - this photo was taken from my front porch. My house sits on a bit of a hill and we can look down on this road and some of the other houses in the neighborhood.

Margana ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 4:04 PM

Okay I'm going to guess it's New Jersey...but that's only because I have a friend there with a house that looks similar to the one across the street from you...Could also easily be Maryland... What would be funny would be if it were Long Island,(where I'm from, lol).
