Antarez (Franz Muenz) did this model as well as the well known Alien Queen converted by Les Garner (sixus1) with Blender 2.36, he generousily allows me to convert it to poser to share it with the community. Thanks Antarez for your kindness!!! :) It is fully poser 4 PPP and P5 and P6 compatible. And it will be available for free soon!!! Best regardings Virus

cool, I am glad that someone found the time to do it!

What is the polycount on this one ? The Alien Queen was HEAVY. Thankfully you never need more than one Queen in a scene.

Since this might be of interest to you alien lovers of this thread, I added a link of a new predator character created by en, using our open source H.I.M. figure as a base. So, you will need to download H.I.M. also to use the Predator.

excellent work on the predator and the alien drone IMVHO

sixus1 ( ) posted Mon, 20 March 2006 at 5:26 PM

That seems like a managable polycount on the drone indeed. en makes some very nice freebies. I was a little hesitant to post that one...I know that I will be getting some server strain for the first month or so from it. Les has another Predator figure that he was working on also...so someday you'll have several to choose from. Happy rendering everyone.

((Les has another Predator figure that he was working on also...)) Oh! That is wonderful news! I can't wait! I'm such a Predator freak. LOL! :D

Even without textures, Franz Muenz's mesh is pretty darn detailed! This is a static version of the mesh (available at theforce.net) I imported into Poser for a test. Sincerely, Bill

We're very pleased to announce that the Alien Drone is now available at PlanIt 3D. It's linked from our front page, or you can find it in our Poser section (which you'll find in the dropdowns on the left side of the home page) under "Characters" Membership NOT required for this freebie, but if you've never been to the site before take a look around. Our members do get the odd little bonus y'know ;)

Excellent! Looks something like the enormous "Grid Head" Alien action figure that sells for $40 at Tower Records.

Thank you very much slinger!! :) Planit3d has been very kind to give it a home to my freebies :) Best regards Virus

And for the rest of the Aliens stuff, just go here. Dropship, APC, rifles, the entire Colonist Complex, the egg, Powerloader, Sulaco, etc. I tried to do the Nostromo and Narcissus, but the polycounts were way too high, like a million or something, lol.

Redfern ( ) posted Thu, 23 March 2006 at 7:37 AM

I downloaded and installed the figure last night. I am very pleased! As can be seen in the few few posts of this thread, this figure can open and close its outer mouth, the inner jaw/tongue can extend and bare its teeth, and there are even snarl morphs for both the upper and lower lips. Plus, the tail has ERC dials for easy and rapid dramatic poses. Thank you Franz Muenz for modeling it, Virus for rigging it, and Planit3D for hosting it! Sincerely, Bill
