The next droid in the astromech series: the R6 unit. Like the previous sstromechs, this model was made by John Jongsma, with extra moving parts and color variations by JHoagland. The R6 unit includes:
  • Rotating head
  • Rotating outer legs
  • Rotating outer and inner feet
  • Extending middle leg
  • Extending outer and middle foot-wheels
  • "Standing" and "moving" pose files
  • Moving upper and lower middle arms
  • Left and right opening door hatches
  • Left extending service arm
  • Right extending service arm with claw No textures are included with this package, but please feel free to make your own. This is a completely stand-alone model: you don't need any previous astromechs to use this droid. To see a LOT more renders of the original Lightwave model, please see John Jongsma's site at: http://www.glimpses-essential.com/starwars_remake/SW_Droids.htm The R7 unit should be done by the weekend... and then the Astromech collection will be complete!

...but John, if the collection is complete, then you will have nothing left, your life will be complete, there will be no more reason for existance... Oh, wait, I forgot about C3PO, there is a reason to live... :-)

All these astromechs have my Jawas excited. "Ooteeni!" declares one of them. Whatever that means. These are super-cool. :)

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

how long before the rest of the robot gang shows up.. Well, R7 is the last "R" unit and it should be ready by Friday... which is tomorrow. :) There are still tons of droids to be made... it's just a matter of finding the time to make all of them. :) And then the Jawas... and the sandcrawler... and the Lars homestead... --John

Great!! but now we should need some golden protocol droid to help them... Maybe a C3PO-Morph set for DAZ-David?

Thanks for these Mr 'Point - followed the link to the original site too and checked out the creator's home-made version of Star Wars from 77... Great fun. Yes, the Lars Homestead, that would be brilliant! Cheers

Maybe a C3PO-Morph set for DAZ-David? An interesting idea, but not very practical. ;) I don't know how well a morph set would work. "Armor" props would probably be the better solution. But if you're going to make props, why not go the extra step and make turn your props into a figure? That way, you don't require users to have the David figure installed... or the added memory overhead of having a David figure in the scene. ;) --John
