Hi,

What I would like to do/have for Miki/V3/S3 is a dress somewhat like the one shown below from the seminal 'Logan's Run' with Jenny Agutter.

Essentially, the dresses were open at the sides and somehow held at the waist and draped round the neck.

From my playing with conforming clothes, I think this is the way to go, but any suggestions would be greatly appreciated before I have a crack at this.

TIA
martin

With a dress like that, I'd try dynamic.

Yesterday's the past, tomorrow's the future, but today is a gift. That's why it's called the present.

Yep, dynamic would be better for that!

Thanks for the idea - think I'll model this one as a dynamic dress. Looks very nice on her, BTW.

Don't worry, it'll find its way to freestuff.

You sicko! She's only 6! ;p Speakin of LR, wonder how that remake is coming along? Back to topic: you might ask EBob about making it a hybrid conforming/dynamic dress.

The chain around her chest would work well as a conformer, agreed. The rest of the cloth would be better off as dynamic.

Hi, Just a quick "thanks" to everyone who's contributing to this thread - and thank you svdl for the generosity in having a go at making this and then posting into freestuff - I also have much of your stuff already and can vouch for its being top notch Thanks again all and here's to dressing Jessica... Oh, *that* work in progress? :)

I was going to make it all-dynamic, actually, just constrain the belt and some of the cloth near it since the simulator goes all funny when the cloth gets squished against the body like that.

Sorry, I went a bit funny there myself. :D

MartinW, do you have some more screenshots of that dress? I'm intrigued as to how the sleeve is attached. EnglishBob: here are some things that worked very well for me: - make the outside of the belt a dynamic group with very high fold resistance, shear resistance and stretch resistance (I'd suggest 50,500,500) - assign the inside of the belt to the soft decorated group; - and assign the polys of the tunic near the belt to the soft decorated group too. That way the belt will slide just a little over Vicki's skin, which makes it look better in extreme poses and when using extreme hip morphs.

Hi svdl The only screenshots I can find are via Google image - I don't (yet) have the DVD to grab from. Here are a few more - I hope they help...

Hope no one minds if I chime in. I was looking at this dress for a possible future project and I would suggest maing it a Hybrid. Make it conforming to the chain belt just uder the breasts, that way you can modeling the pleating and the left arm "sleeve". Then leave the skirt as a dynamic group to get the flowing effect. That was how I planned to do it.

Truth is I won't make a conforming skirt longer than a very short mini, any more. The flowing hybrids just look too good.

You've got pictures of two different dresses -- the open-at-the-side/sparkly dress has no sleeves -- the jersey dress (posts 13 and 15) has hankerchief sleeves that appear to be extentions of the front and back panels of the upper part of the dress. The sparkly dress is from the "sex circuit" scene -- the other was her regular outfit...

By the way, the sparkly dress is basically two rectangles sown together at the shoulders with an opening left for the head, then gathered to fit at the shoulders. It appears to be attached to the belt only at the sides to keep her breasts from being exposed, but drapes the rest of the way down -- if she were to spin to quickly, everyone around would get a show. (Although the actress probably had some kind of concealed/glued-on undergarment on the set.)

LOL, here's the scoop on that: Continuity error: When Jessica takes off her green tunic to put on the fur, she has no underwear. Later when they are outside, she can be seen wearing underwear.
