There is no requirement to post credits for anything. Lots of people feel that the exchange of money is thanks enough. However, when it comes to free stuff, many, if not most feel that a thank you should be given to the creator of those because it's the only credit/acknowledgment they get. But again, it's not mandatory either....just a nice gesture. I just did an image that had different head and body morphs, a different texture, different eyes, different eye glint, different lips. By the time I put it all together and tweaked things myself, I had lost track of it all. And that was for a single image scene. I can only surmise that it gets much worse with some of the really complex images that I've seen in the gallery.
"It is good to see ourselves as
others see us. Try as we may, we are never
able to know ourselves fully as we
are, especially the evil side of us.
This we can do only if we are not
angry with our critics but will take in good
heart whatever they might have to
say." - Ghandi
I'll try to credit Freestuff and I'll always credit commercial stuff if it was a gift. Other times, it varies on crediting commercial content.

I try to credit the authors of the Free items but keeping tabs on all the readmes sometimes just doesn't work out or I miss some. I agree though that there's a hugh talent of very generous people who make wonderful things for free. Should there be a freebie appreciation day? There was talk of adding something to the cr2, pp2 to note the author which would ease crediting the right person too. Thank you all free stuff creators.
The important thing is not to stop questioning.

As a free stuff provider I'd like to say that it is very much appreciated to see credits for the freebie :)
Also don't forget that most of the time it is the only way for us to actually SEE the image you created using our freebie - searching Rendo galleries by the freebie or creator's name.
And seeing your gift used in some beautiful image really motivates to go on sharing stuff :)

I try to credit when items are free, and sometimes if a product is really outstanding, i do put it in the credits. Other times i'm so tired i just want to post the pic and get over with it. Michal, i love your freebies, but i can never get them :-/ I already tried to tweak my firefox and mozilla, but i always get that message. I'd love to use them.. but can't sigh
Always credit freestuff items used in your images. IMO it's the way to show appreciation to the author. As for MP items, well I'm likely to get flamed but it's a rare day that I credit them in an image. To me it's like buying a shirt with the designer's logo all over the front. I've already paid for the item, now I have to advertise it too? ;) The only time I do credit a purchased item is when it crosses that threshold of being just another purchase to something that was a joy to use. I'm sure a lot of folks see it differently and that is cool; but there is no rule that says you have to credit MP items when you post an image.
I know what you mean, Scott. Sometimes I just can't REMEMBER who made this-and-that thing I made. It may be something I downloaded 5 years ago. But when I know who made it, I credit. And yea, I occasionally go "vanity browsing" in the galleries. Just a bit hard because some credit me, some credit TrekkieGrrrl (that's me too) and TrekkieGrrrl can be (mis)spelled in a LOT of ways LOL

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
I try..;) I just saw one of my props used uncredited in a piccy (Carrara, not Poser), and I was just too tickled to be mad (I did leave a comment that I made one just like it..;) It's one of the reasons I have a database..;)

Overwhelmed & totaly appreciative of all the great content that is available both through the MP & made available Free. Free I mean c'mon Major Kudos to the people who make there stuff free!!!! So when adding an image to the gallery I try to include thanks in my descriptions. I spend a decent amount of time wording it double checking owners info, was it aquired here or else where, ect... But now I was wondering... Should I even bother??? Maybe just... Add a title, thanks for viewing, click upload and call it done. Scott
