Subject: Make the "nudity" flag add a disclaimer to thumbnails like the "violence" flag?

I think this would be very helpful, because sometimes the thumbnails don't show the nudity and the artists haven't manually put a notice in their title. As someone noted, it can make browsing the galleries like playing Russian Roulette with your job. ;)

I know there was a 'nudity' flag at one time. I always check it but that doesn't do any good if it doesn't show up and I admit I'm guilty of forgetting to put it in my title sometimes. I'd like to see the flag back too just so no one is 'surprised' by anything I post (I had a rather big surprise a couple days ago myself). The last thing I want to do is offend anyone.

I want to thank you for this topic... As both a new image poster and someone who does not have the nsfw issue, I did not even think about this beyond the check box. I think I will go adjust the couple that qualify now. Again, thank you, seriously.

I'm for this because sometimes you show the gallery to others and you don't always want to go through the hassle of hitting the nudity flag off and on. This way you have a guide to the ones that contain nudity as well. Always appreciate the ones that mark them as such in their title. And no, I'm not against nudity and look at a lot of the pinups, but sometimes I do show Rosity to people not so artistically enlightened.

If you set the nudity flag in your profile to "No", any image tagged nudity will not display when you are browsing the gallery. This does not work the same way in the Forums. If the post shows the nudity tag, images in that post will still appear. The nudity tag in the forums is a warning that an image in the thread contains nudity.

All I'm asking for is a disclaimer that says "Nudity" to automatically be added below thumbnails where the artist has checked the "Nudity" checkbox on their artwork. This is exactly the same as it works on images tagged for Violence, because as things are now, there is no way to distinguish items that do and do not contain nudity from the gallery level. Can't an admin hop in and let us know if it's possible?

I don't object to you asking for that nor do I object to it being done. I just wonder, if they would object to you viewing a nude image at your job, would they also object to you viewing images at a site where the word NUDITY shows up on a large number of images when they walk by?

Because it's a lot harder to not notice an image of a huge boob on the screen than a small word if you're just passing by. I guess the real question is why ISN'T there a flag like the violence one? And why are the admins passing over this thread like it doesn't exists? :(

I've asked this question and others in the same vein {like nudity filters in the forum threads, like there is in the galleries} and either Im called a prude or some such..Im tired of asking....

I think it would be helpful indeed. A nudity notice would enhance the consistency of the galleries, and I like consistency. The nudity/violence flags in the forums may be a little trickier. Sometimes I attach an image to a post that needs the nudity flag, and I think the image should be filtered out for viewers that have set their profile to no nudity. And when I attach a link to a site/page that contains nudity/violence I also check the nudity/violence flag. Should the link be filtered out? And what should happen when both an image and a link are attached to the post?

Why would you need a disclaimer below the gallery image when the artist has set the nudity flag? You have to edit your profile to not show nudity otherwise this filter won't work. Once your profile is set to not show nudity you won't even see the thumbnails so any disclaimer added saying nudity won't show either.

You find your profile in the Member Options drop down menue on top of the page.

Yes, however, sometimes I browse with people who don't particularly want to see the nudity. I normally don't mind (you'll even find nudity in my gallery). However, don't you agree that it shouldn't be a "surprise!" the same way images properly flagged with Violence aren't a surprise? You know what you're getting in for before you click the thumbnail. The problem isn't that there's nudity, or that they're mixed in with regular images. It's that unless the artist manually puts a notice in his or her title, or puts the nudity IN the thumbnail, there's no way to tell, whereas for violence you just hit the checkbox and it's externally labled.

Oh, that's what you mean. Maybe not a bad idea but then, I like surprises ;-)
