New look, new tools, but underneath its still our same old home. We hope you come to enjoy your new surroundings and get used to the new shell and rest assured, there are more options coming your way. As we get settled in, we should all post up suggestions about our new format and what can be done to improve it, and what personal options we each would like to see and have. Now go break something. It's not a REAL party until something gets cracked! (j/k...) AgentSmith

"Cool avatar! Where do I upload mine at?" Near-ish the top of the Renderosity page is the "my options" link. In there you will see the option to add an avatar. AS

FranOnTheEdge ( ) posted Tue, 04 April 2006 at 6:25 PM

I need to know how to change the colours, desperately!!! All this glaring white is making my eyes water. I did look all around before asking, but I can't find anything. One other thing about the new forums, all my old ebots don't take me to the right thread - help??? Okay, third thing, I personally think the "Notify me of replies" box should be already checked as default - cos I'm gonna miss so much if I have to remember to tick that box all the time. Or at the very least we should have the option to have our default on that box set to the way we want it in our profile, or marketplace complaints thing... sorry "Customer Support" And that's another thing, it was a heck of a job to find the "Edit Forums" thingie (and there's no choose colours option in there either). grrrrr! One good point, at least the top two rows of menu .... things... are still in the same place. (and I'm serious about the colours - My eyes really don't like the white screamies!)

Fran; "I need to know how to change the colours, desperately" -Sorry, no way to do that right now. Basics first, then the options come in. I feel ya though, my background has always been black. "all my old ebots don't take me to the right thread" -And, they won't. We are on a new server, and the url has changed. Example; http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?ForumID=12356&Form.ShowMessage=2641015 Will become: http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2641015 "I personally think the "Notify me of replies" box should be already checked as default" -WAY back there was an unofficial poll about that, and a huge majority wanted it unchecked. "Or at the very least we should have the option to have our default on that box set to the way we want it in our profile" -I TOTALLY agree. Again, options will be coming. AS

"Oh dear, I already badly miss my old Rendo." At first I thought that, but, to be fair I quite like it. That's not to say there's nothing I wouldn't change: For starters, that [top of forum] option needs DESPERATELY to be seperated from the rest of the options. It needs to be BIG'N'BOLD, or better still, made into an icon. Because the sequential thread lists have gone AWOL, I think this option really needs to be made more 'prominent' in the design - because it will be used a HECK of a lot now. BTW Peter, I've just sent you an IM - wanting to see if I get the notification icon. Looks like it ain't working either. Len.

Had to relog back in...not sure which forums you are using...but a patch to mix your software and the forum would be grand so once you are logged into the site, you are logged in for the forum Is there the possibility of sub forums with in the forum?? It looks great, but to me, its still a little cluttered cuz its all smushed together...will take some getting used to! wah, cant click on thumb??

AgentSmith ( ) posted Tue, 04 April 2006 at 8:01 PM

The Bryster; I'll report that and see if anything is amiss, I would suggest just to start fresh, we ALL do the; logout, purge cache and cookies, log back in. "Had to relog back in" -Yup, that's what they had to go through with the MP when it went over to PHP. Just so the normal thing of making sure whatever you program you use to purge your cache that it leaves the new cookie alone, and a second logiing in, into Renderosity's forums shouldn't be needed, unless you do a logout. (that's my theory, anyway, lol) "Is there the possibility of sub forums with in the forum?" -The staffers had asked that a ways back, and in a round about way the answer was yes...which off the top of our would give us all a quick and easy entrance in to ongoing Challeges and Chakllenge archives within the Forums themselves. -Along with other possibilities...;o) Flak; "also, the side menu is the marketplace menu... will that be going back to the community menu sometime soon?" -VERY good question. I do not know right now...but, imho, it had better, lol. You may notice the top header of your browser says "Renderosity Marketplace". I think there are a few things borrowed form the MP PHP which needs to be tweaked, lol... AS
