Maybe partly my own doing by having 200 threads per page in my prefs (now changed) but: Every time I visit a forum the browser has to download 200 items, ok once is ok, if I make a post (like I am doing now) and then click the top of forum link, the browse had to download another 200 items, if I then make another post guess what happens? Yep thats another 200 items. Etc Surely this will have an impact on server bandwidth and slow things down? Don't get me wrong I like the new format, but have noticed it is somwhat slower than the old forum, possibly for waht I have mentioned.

I've noticed that too. I think a slightly slower site is the price you pay for an upgrade, at least for now, anyway.

Yes I am sure that there will be some teething problems, I like the overall format and it is a step in the right direction. I thing when the forums and galleries are on the same platform, it will make things a little easier, once you get used to it.

I'm betting that over the next week (or so) the Programmers will be keeping watch over the server bandwidth, optimizing it here and there. Eventually, it will speed up for everyone, I'm sure. I'm going through phases of some slight slowness to blazing fast. Mostly fast now, though. Overall, I'm told ALL will be faster, even with members using the MAX amount of threads per page, etc. AgentSmith

AS, How many are you doing a page. I have mine at 30 and I am slow as molasses. I can get up from my chair and go get a drink from the fridge in the other room before some pages load. (Wondering if custom Thread views is the cause?)

I have reduced mine from the max 200 to 50, the speed isnt really an issue as I am on a 10Mbps connection, but 200 stars is approx 2.5MB download (by my rough calculation) that is allot of bandwidth being used that doesnt imo need to be. Not being well versed on how PHP forums work I dont know if this is normal or not. The 200 items were taking about 10-30 seconds; speed wise it seems to go from very fast to very slow.
