Subject: When did Renderosity actually start?
Oh gods! I remember Happyworldland! It was where I got my first Posette skin freebie! Once I figured out there were such things anyway LOL!

It was around about the same week as the date under my avatar - there are a lot of members who date from about then which was when the Site changed servers and starting calling itself "Renderosity"

Dr. Geep has a very brief history of Poser. He also has links to the site of Larry Winberg (the creator of Poser). There's a history of Poser there IIRC.Before they made me they broke the mold!

If you do a Google on 'the Wayback Machine', you'll get a link to a site that archives copies of links such as 'rosity going back to the late 90's..
I've discovered to my sorrow that it only archives pics..if only it did downloads..;) I miss Lannie's 3d world..;)

The first time I came online here at renderosity was about a week or two after Willow lost her fight with this place over title to poserforum.com or something like that. From what I gathered at the time, around 99, both PFO and renderosity were already a few years old. Used to be that you could browse the gallery all the way back here, and that would answer how long that has been up, but that function doesn't seem to be active anymore... so far I've managed to get back as far as galleryid 411, which dates to april 11, 1999. But I think the site is much older than that. Perhaps they restarted the gallery at some point.

Poser 1..then when the email list started, etc etc .... P2, P3, etc etc. When add on items started to appear. What the first for sale Poser add was... Zygote...when did they tranform to DAZ? Mike 1...that was with Zygote as was V1...i think.... Yes..we need a complete history...the highlights and low lights...as when Metacreations caught the internet fever and bailed on the cult. That one left me dizzy for a long time.
