Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 28 11:20 am)
You can do it with a transparency map. You paint that in any paintprogram. Anything white on a transparency map is opaque, and black is fully transparent. Grey is semitransparent.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Aaah - then in that case, I assume you want the "Figure-swells, rips cloths" effect or something like that... To get tears in conforming clothing (realistic ones, as opposed to Poser's notorious "poke-through"), would entail a VERY tedious time creating an animated transparancy map. Can be done, but tedious... Doing it with dynamic cloth entails: a) finding a suitable dynamic cloth mesh. (Some, tho' not all, conforming clothes can be converted to dynamic cloth). b) transforming the cloth mesh in a 3D modelling app so as to split the mesh along certain "strategic" edges. c) doing the cloth simulation (with elasticity set to 0). No guarantee it'd work, but it's the approach I'd start from.. Cheers, Diolma PS: There are several tutorials around on transforming Conforming clothing into Dynamic. Just can't remember where they are, at present...
