Subject: Comic Book Creator

I don't know if I am in the right place to ask this question, but I didn't find the way to reach Store Staff directly. My question is related to Comic Book Creator : is it possible to customize page templates in this software if you don't want to use those which are provided ? Can I take a blank page and decide freely the way I will organize my images ?

Hi Sim, I'm not 100% sure. I know you can use other templates but not sure if this is done within the SW or outside. I will direct Ning from Planet Wide Games to this post. Clint

Hi Simbad6, We have over several different templates that we provide you. Currently there is no easy way to make your own templates. The templates are written in XML, so if you have XML knowledge, you can actually create your own templates. We do have an extensive post on our website's forums by a user that explains how to do this. We are coming up with new templates, designs, and hopefully tools that will allow you to make your own templates!

Thank you for the info. I will be waiting for these tools. I know that there are many templates available, but if you want to do a serious job on a comic, you need a lot of flexibility to be able to express your creativity. I would even suggest to allow circular images or small images overlaping bigger ones (this is often used as a zoom to catch the reader's attention on a detail). Sometimes, you may also have to suppress one or more border from a box. These effects are very common in European comics. I guess this software has a great potential, combined with Poser or Bryce. I hope you'll make a professional version some day.

I ordered and have paid for the comic book creator program bu t for some reason it has not appeared in my account area for downloading. Is this a hardcopy only item?..and if so...why isn't that made clear on the order page? I would never have bought it if I had known it wasn't downloadable. The shipping costs to Canada are going to double the price, plus which...the address I have on file here is very old and if it gets shipped to that old addy I'll never get it. Or...have I done something wrong?... please tell me that it is downloadable...I really really don't want to go through the hassle of changing my surface address and waiting for weeks and weeks to get a CD that will probably be faulty when it arrives anyway.

Hi Sinner69, It states on the product page that its a "Shippable Product" and you were presented with the shipping charges during the check out. It will ship first thing Monday morning and should arrive at your door in 3-5 days. Thanks for shopping at Renderosity.

ah well..it will arrive at my old address and probably get sent right back to you.(if my ex doesn't just burn it out of spite) I have looked at the billing etc and realize I've been charged for shipping...but I also know I looked and looked and looked at the damn thing ..or rather the order page...when I first decided to buy it..and...it really is NOT clear that it is not a downloadable product. Aside from this little thirty dollar glitch Renderosity has been pretty good with its products and support... So.....all things considered I guess I shouldn't complain. It's too bad though...that comicbook creator program sounded interesting.

If it gets returned to the office we will be happy to reship to your new address.

Hey...just gotta say sorry for all the bitchiness vis a vis shipping the Comic Book creator program. It arrived within seven working days and...well..I think the shipping costs were very very acceptable, especially since you had to ship it up here to Canada.  I don't know if this is the right place to put this kind of praise but I just wanted to balance out my earlier complaints and say in public that you guys did a great job shipping the hardcopy version of this program and I'd trust you in the future if I ever find non downloadable stuff I want to buy from you.
Cheers.
