Subject: What happened to the Photo Gallery?

I am missing new posts by enax, akinom, logiloglu, ... I see mjr leaving. I see that the Hot20 does not show any new talents any longer but is conquered by one whose photos got much more votes than comments...

Hi.Gerhard posted just recently.Monika hasn't been here for a while now,(but I hope one day she'll return).I don't know Enax and cannot speak to why MJR left, because I know nothing about it.Just that he is very talented and will be missed. The Hot20,good or bad,is all about the number of votes...that's how an image gets in there.I'm guessing it was different at some point, judging by your surprise. Hope this helps. ______________________________________________________________ "Shouldn't there be a shorter word for abbreviation?"

Hi...Repeating Marlene.. I got the notification of Gerhard posting. enax hasn't posted since Feb28 Monika has not since Feb14 Be nice to see them again for sure. So have no fear, you are not missing posts. As for the Hot20...I am sure most are aware of this system and how it has it's flaws. Pesonally I find it sad that something that was designed to be a nice gesture for members who spend thier time creating fantastic works gets abused so badly, then taints it for the entire communuty. Simply put...it needs some changes to it, or just not have it.

I have not yet voted for an image and likely will not. I suspect many photographers and grapics artists will appreciate my comments in any regard. Comments is the only way I go in this venue. TomDart.

I'm completely with Tom (although my comments are rarely spread...)

O yes, I agree about the top 20....I couldn't believe my eyes what I saw there......to me it don't mean a thing...NO need to be in there, but I don't agree with the once I saw there....

if you ask me the Hot 20 is a joke .. a bad one at that.. a joke is funny the first time but when you hear it over and over.. you want to shoot it and never hear it again lol if one of my images eneded up in the top 20 at this point I would delete it.. I would know it was a crap image for it to end up in there.. or I have to many friends kissing my butt and posting me in there would tell the world lol

Andreas...just look through the galleries and I'm sure you will find much talent that you can appreciate still here at RR. And hey, the forum is not a terrible place to spend your time either. :m_bouncy: We will all miss those who have left us and hope that some will return, but there are new friends to be made and new photography to be appreciated. Be sure to take a look at the LWING thread to see some non-hot20 highlights of the week past.

Yes We do understand your dissatisfaction with the current Hot 20 system & although we are unable to make immediate changes we are working on a more satisfactory feature, meanwhile please remember the Hot 20 is for entertainment purposes only

About the Hot20: needless to say anything about the images that do get in there, but I find the whole system of voting and the attitude behind it soooo repulsive, it almost makes me wanna throw up. 'Hey, look, OMG, I VOOOOOOTTTTTEEEEEEED for YYYOOOOUUUU, will you please love MEEEEE now, and will you please vote for MEEEEE next time???? I wanna be popular so bad! PLEASEEEEE?' Yuk. (V) So yes, I guess it's gone the wrong way. I have no idea what happened this week with the Hot20, but clearly someone has been making a (good) point there...

I don't vote either. It seems the Hot 20 is the wrong title for it.
