Subject: About the French Beauty House...

PilotHigh ( ) posted Wed, 04 April 2001 at 11:44 AM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 2:25 AM

I bought the French Beauty house on March 30th. I found a few discrepancies in the model and had some questions. There was no name or email address in the readme, only a URL but still no name or personal email on the site - only for the webmaster. I don't know if that's him or not. Anyway I clicked on the name under the store item, which is "jflmkr", and sent him email on April 2nd. I had not received a reply by today even though he has posted in the forums and galleries since then. BTW the gallery picture was signed 'cinex' wherein he said he was the creator of the French Beauty house! I tried searching the members list for him again using both names but it seems he's not a member anymore - or he changed his name again. Anyway what I need from the store is for someone to give me his email address or tell him to email me about the item, please. If I don't hear back from him or you guys I'm going to put up a negative comment on the store item! Thank you for your help. Aeriol Meinhardt (aka PilotHigh)

I went back to the store item and at the very bottom of the description I did find a contact email. I will try to reach him again and then come back here and report. Sorry for the inconvenience. Aeriol

What kind of problem are you having? This model works best in poser with the Dolly Camera in my experience. -JH.

It has nothing to do with the store, Jeff. It wasn't rendering properly due to UV problems, I think. I loaded it into UVMapper and got an error about the UVs being 'out of range', whatever that is. I remapped it and it took the textures better but now I'm having stretching problems and artifacts slicing thru some textures. Also noticed that a couple of items in .obj format were not included like the garage door and the arched glass french doors. I was wondering if it was an oversight. Also the kitchen counter and cupboards are in the dining room instead of the kitchen, and can't be moved. I made them invisible but part of the floor became invisible also. There are just too many things I need to talk to him about. If this is the first in a series of houses he will be selling, I want to make sure it's not me at fault here with remapping and so on. Thanks for your reply. ps: just noticed that he has 2 spellings for his name, flmkrc and jflmkr, and he uses both.
