Thanks Xen for letting me in, the only way I got here was thru a posted link in a chat by Xenic. Whats up? Someone said it Firefox that is blocked out, that IE works.

ang25,
mozilla is o.k. (slower than usual).

NOTE:
both IE (4/11/06) and firefox (4/13/06) got security updates last week. Mozilla only automatically updated if you were using their current version.

might it be a server problem?

After a quick check, it appears the low count (approximately 500 members) is on the forum server, which is market.renderosity.com. On the other server, renderosity.com, the current count is about 1500 members. Put them together, and you get  about 2000 members which is about the normal count for the original setup when I'm online here. Is this the answer, do you think?

Yeah, I noticed that not too long ago too. But it's tacky to delete a post when you started the thread.

And mahray was kind enough to point me to the quotes page for http://www.rendergods.com

My tirade was horribly edited, I kept binging into mIRC's max characters per line, but I know there was more posted on each line. I think the editor for the quotes page clipped the lines when drac posted it. I also blame it for the typos.

Drac, the guy who's never at the computer when I'm there, but manages to hunt down and preserve every word I say. It's like he's obsessed or something...

According to the PTB of the Community Center forum, it is.
Just coming to the forums and seeing "market.renderosity" in the url is still weirding me out a bit.

at the time I posted that, I was the only one active in rendergods who could get in. They were trying ebot links and bookmarks and such.

Market and forums (or fora for the tetchy literate types):
1264 surfers currently online

Galleries, etc:
2039 surfers currently online

Plenty about at the moment. Should be even more when everyone's back at work tomorrow (snicker).

For me Rosity has started to crash FireFox on approximately the 3rd or 4th ebot, especially the rotten new ebots with the extra long addresses that I think are trying to get you to a particular message in a thread.

It just feels like they are doing their best to drive people away - I dare say they aren't, but it just feels that way.

And I don't wanna give up tabbed browsing!!!!!

Fran, do you have the latest version of Firefox?  I thought I read somewhere in the Community forum that once folks upgraded, the problems went away?

I'm using the latest Firefox with no apparent problems, but I'm on a Mac so don't know if there's a difference to PC versions (assuming you are on a PC)?  I hope you can get things worked out.  I know I'd go stark raving bonkers without my tabbed browser.

I think part of the issue for Fran is that she uses the Hotmail web email service (judging by her picture in the "I give up" thread).

I'm guessing that she views the Hotmail page as one tab of the Firefox browser and wants to open the ebot links in another tab. But they won't do so; they open in a new browser-instance instead. And I think the Hotmail display of the ebot-forum-link properties prevents Fran from copying 'n pasting the links into the address bar of a tab.

This is my interpretation of her problem from her various posts. She can hit me if I'm wrong. And no doubt will... ;-)

Fran......have you considered trying "Thunderbird" email by the same people as Firefox,Mozilla org.
Works a treat and has  good spam control built in!

FranOnTheEdge ( ) posted Mon, 24 April 2006 at 6:07 PM

PJF is right.

Jonnyf.  No I haven't considered thunderbird or any other email because I'm paying for the larger hotmail account so I can accept and send nice big files - 20 meg nice.

ariannah,

No I don't, and the reason for that is that I have an ergonomic keyboard - with a zoom button that resizes the text on the internet so I can read it - I bought the keyboard specifically BECAUSE of the zoom button and until Firefox updated their browser all worked perfectly well, when the new firefox cr*pped things up for me - I changed back to Firefox 1.0.7 and all was well... until php

Can I go to bed and cry now?

Oh PJF?  Hotmail doesn't stop me from copying and pasting the address - it's just that what I copy and paste although it LOOKS like what you see under the irritating "here" in the ebots - it doesn't take you to the thread. (shrug)
