so where do you think the most beautiful scenery is in the world?
something breath-taking would be nice :) suggestions or post a pic :)
just no people or buildings, only plain beautiful land/lake/ocean/etc

From my own experience I can recommend looking for pictures of South Africa as a good place to start  - coastal Cape  province or the Drakensberg mountains in Transvaal. The Mediterranean region also has some fantastic scenery. And further north from there the Alps mountain range.
Have a look in the photography gallery here - you'll find some great landscape/scenic photos to get you going.

How about the Alps.

If you use his images you will need to request permission first, and then credit him for such when you display or post your renders.

Lake Louise in Alberta is beautiful

If you prefer ocean views, there's always Big Sur in California

If you want something a little more "pastoral", I enjoy the Lake District in England.

i don't think there is any such thing as "the" most beautiful landscape. how would you determine that? how do you rank oregon haystacks versus a closeup of a canyon in arizona vs the matterhorn in the swiss alps vs lassen volcanic park vs moraine lake in banff national park vs fiordland (in new zealand) vs the li river in guangxi province, china vs victoria falls in zimbabwe vs bryce canyon vs a sunset at the alsek river in alaska vs another sunset at denali national park vs painted desert vs palau? i better stop here, snicker, but my folder of beautiful, breathtaking, awe-inspiring landscape bookmarks has literally thousands of links in it, and i think they barely scratch the surface of all the marvelous spots on this planet.

pleonastic ( ) posted Mon, 17 April 2006 at 11:21 PM

anxcon ( ) posted Mon, 17 April 2006 at 11:55 PM

btw pleonastic, anymore pretty waterfalls with rainbows?:)

pleonastic ( ) posted Tue, 18 April 2006 at 1:08 AM

heh. yeah, i know how that goes. thousands of links, but not keyworded to that degree, alas. i don't do that with links because it's too much work for something that can disappear any day. these are the URLs i have for "rainbow" and "waterfall"; sorry about not making links, but that's also too much work. :) also didn't sort them by quality. http://vl-ssm.nju.edu.cn/group/spm/personal/wangmu/world_files/image019.jpg http://i8.photobucket.com/albums/a9/zamp_m/rainbow.jpg http://www.shieldsaroundtheworld.com/origs/P0001280.jpg http://www.amemorialtribute.com/ecards/waterfall_rainbow.gif http://www.mightyeagleministry.org/files/rainbow___waterfall.jpg http://image12.webshots.com/13/1/67/95/138616795MSJwWO_ph.jpg http://www.angelfire.com/co4/ny2boulder2003/wyoming19.JPG http://www.syer.net/images/Costa%20Rica/rainbow.jpg http://www.lhelmerich.com/larry/hawaii1999/kauaiWaterfall/falls2.jpg http://gozer.ectoplasm.org/albums/GQ-Yosemite-jun2004-vernal_fall_hike/ace.jpg http://www.andrew.cmu.edu/user/hyu/rainbow.jpg http://mishami.image.pbase.com/u48/pnd1/large/35601774.BridalveilFallclosecopy.jpg http://www.doc.ic.ac.uk/~dg00/forDoc/vf8.jpg http://juima.org/events/images/20020719-yosemite-bridal_veil_fall-rainbow.jpg no waterfall, but a few cool rainbow images: http://nickdaniels.com/images/USA/Monument%20Valley%20Rainbow.JPG http://www.pebesoft.com/martin/Holiday/Iceland/Images/rainbow.jpg http://www5.worldisround.com/photos/0/116/385_o.jpg http://www.clasohm.com/photodb/img/3143-lg.jpg http://www.brandongermer.com/mountain_pics/P1010105.JPG enjoy!

Nope, we have the most beautiful sceneries right here in Québec. loll

Seriously, many regions of Québec offer us such beautiful landscapes that really are breathtaking. Look for the BIC in Québec. And this is only one example.
