Subject: Welcome to Renderosity's new PHP Forums!

AS: Thank you for your reply. Apology accepted.

It seems that it's not just the e-bots now causing that problem. I've had a couple of crashes when accessing threads from the forum page aswell.

Funny, when the changeover happened I had no problems with the php stuff at all. So something has changed with the staff tweeking things, methinks.

Quote - So....after scanning through all that...you are using web-based Hotmail?

That's all I REALLY need to know right now. ;o)

The other (sticky) post where I asked you;

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/showthread.php?thread_id=2641248

Well I went and looked at that thread AS, but I STILL can't see where you asked me anything.

(shrug)

I never thought of my hotmail as Web-based, but I guess it must be.  Sorry.

So... what happens now?

(By the way, I've almost figured out how to change the forum's colours, so now I have nice 6666FF purpley-blue background although there are still problems with the background colour on the forums lists and forums thread listings - but at least it's better than the glaring white)

AS,

Quote - "-No. I was (in a different thread) trying to find out what e-mail program you were using? Some staff use Firefox and tabbed browsing, and they say they have no problems with ebots. So, I'm trying to find out what needs to be done for you to get back working good again."

Oh I can tell you that, it just needs the full address of the message to be visible in the ebot email, (the way it used to be) instead of being hidden under a  'Here'.

And would be even better if the link to the Rosity message (i.e. the visible message's address) allowed you to "Open in New Tab".

That would be absolutely wonderful!  But I don't hold out much hope for that.

OK, I just leave for a few weeks and all hell breaks loose!

But I LIKE IT.  We're like a grown up forum now.

In what way?  (I'm just wondering if it's the same problem I have.)

It's getting worse AS.  Now there are some replies I can no longer access, since Rosity has decided to make the addresses so long that I can no longer see them in "Element Properties" and even if I can paste the address in, they take me to something like "Thread had been deleted", or "Only Moderators can access that part of the forum", or something wierd, and no the thread IS still there, I looked by accessing the forum directly and checking.

Looks like I'm being forced out of the forums entirely.

This PHP thing has me ragged. Since it came to pass, I have had a dozen windows open in four different forums, trying to take questions, relay questions, and find the answers to the questions, so I could relay them back to the correct thread/post. This doesn't include answering questions via e-mail and IM's.

So...forgive me Fran, but when I asked the question of what e-mail program you were using I called you Karen, because I was asking Firefox questions to a staffer who's name is Karen, my bad.

Okay...so you use Hotmail. NOW...Do you use an executable PROGRAM to check your e-mail, or do you just BROWSE to www.hotmail.com, and sign in to check your e-mail?

Just please...nothing but the answer I beg of you. :o)

Fran - "Now there are some replies I can no longer access"

-This is not due to any part of the PHP. If I have deleted a forum thread, everyone who has already posted/subscribed to it, will get an ebot saying I replied to it, when all I did was get rid of it. That was how it was in the past and unfortuantely still is.  ;o(

"Element Properties"

-I have NO idea what program that is from, so I don't know how to respond to that.

I seen this before AS. You may need some help in here soon, someone who can dedicate themselves, such as you have and do.

For the record; my IEcurrent/WinXP always works fine with PHP code. Microsofts anti-spyware runs in background and no problems yet at all.

I know Microsloth, had its un-reliable periods aplenty. However, running full out with their apps and browser has been a pleasurable, trouble free experience, the last year or so.

EDIT: Ummm, I have been noticing problems all over the net today, in several different forums as well as, the three I mentioned earlier in this thread.

Strange. I got all the html codes displayed in white boxes at one forum, instead of the content? hmmm. Also getting errors in html displays elsewhere; flashing cursors, jumbled letters.

hmmm, no problems in Rosity forums though.

I go online, i.e. second option in your two choices.

"Element Properties"

"Element Properties" is what the little box is called that pops up when you right click the nevertobesufficientlycursed word "here" in the Rosity ebot inside Hotmail.  And the address being too long for the box MUST be due to PHP, since the ebot comes from Rosity's php forums.  For some reason the address/ and or the number of the message can no longer be pasted into a new tab's address bar - it just doesn't go to the message, it either goes to the forum or there's a "you can't access that part of the forums" message - yet when I left click the nevertobesufficientlycursed word "here" in the Rosity ebot inside Hotmail - the right thread and the right message pop up.

So put simply, Rosity is stopping tabbed browsing, and since people say that everybody else using Firefox is having no problems with it, it seems like Rosity is just stopping ME from using tabbed browsing.

Frustrated???  Who???  me?
