Well I don't know if you guys have found this, but if you click the little arrow underneath the word 'body:' on the reply box you get a whole mess of stuff to alter the appearance of your text message!

Er... is this 'cache' anything to do with why I can't change my avatar?

Fran, try this for your avatar:

1: Select a new avatar.

2: Save changes (even if it looks like the graphic hasn't changed)

3: Visit the forum threads.

4: Hold down SHIFT and click REFRESH on your browser.

5: If you're lucky - you can kiss my ass!

If this goes out on a white background, it won't show up.
If this goes out on either a white or blue-grey background, it  will probably show up.

if this goes out on a blue-grey background it might, just, be readable.

And if anyone has their background colour custom-set to black, this wont be visible....

The custom text/background post colour tools should be immediately removed. No browser can resolve all the problems associated with all possiblities of user browser chioces and "posters" overrides. It'll only end in tears. (as in "tearing out hair, 'cos  CAN'T SEE TEXT)....

Cheers,
Diolma
