Forgive the yellow font...our forum used to have a black background...I'll fix that.

Nobody could find it before, and it was way easier to see before, lol.

I have another stupid question, so, rather than starting another thread, I think I'll ask it here (it's not in the FAQ!) -- When I open Bryce 5.5 and add an object to the scene, it's not visible in the working window...I could have sworn that when I did that in Bryce 4, it appeared right away in the center of the scene. It IS visible in the little preview window, though....which I'm sure is a clue, but I'm not able to figure out what I'm doing wrong:blushing: If I move the object so that it's centered in, say, camera view or director's view, then it's way off-center in the preview window, which is maddening. I looked for any sort of "preferences" place where I could somehow set the program up so that the working window showed the center of the Bryce universe, but there doesn't seem to be one in the menu. I'm stumped.... Patricia, who feels as if she's dropping IQ points by the minute this evening
Yeah, usually you go to;
Edit>Preferences. And there is an option to create new objects within view, or at world center.
But, yes the preview window and the main window do not always correspond if the main window is not the same aspect ratio as the preview window, which I believe is always a 4:3 ratio (like 640x480, 800x600, etc)

How the heck did I miss that?! LOL Usually, application preferences are under the first menu item, I guess. Tomorrow I'll give it a try....if I tell it to create them within view, will that screw up the preview window? This is more than an aspect ratio difference--the objects are completely out of view in the main window, yet they're clearly visible and centered in the preview window. It sounds like a silly problem, but so far it's caused me to scrap 2 images I've begun, due to not being able to see clearly in the preview window when I make changes. And I've switched the preview window's view, too--but I had to do a lot of object moving in order to get them into view in the main window (which is set quite large). I cannot remember EVER having this problem with Bryce 4, which leads me to suspect that it's some simple setting that I'm spacing on at the moment.... Patricia

**-**Here's one quirk about Bryce that I have encountered. I have a plop render window up...I add an object, and (as you say) the object does not appear in my preview window. And, it won't until I either cycle through my "preview modes" and/or get rid of the plop window. Sometimes I have to do both. But, this quirk happened to me in version 4 as well.
I cannot remember any differences amongst my Bryce 4, 5, and 5.5 and the preview window....

I clearly recall being able to export objects that I created in Bryce 4 so that I could use them in other apps via a neat little "click on the E, then do a control+D" procedure. It always worked fine. But I now have Bryce 5.5 and have uninstalled Bryce 4 and can't figure out how to export my objects anymore...the 'Export objects' in the menu is grayed out and I cannot find that E to click on anymore. This could be due to the years that have passed since I used Bryce, of course :blink: I searched, but only found the E trick and without the E, it's not a whole lot of use to me. Can anyone help?
