Thanks guys :D
Kort....nopes. I haven't browsed through anything except from the gallery that Doug have here
since he was kind enough to give me the permission to use whatever I found appropriate.
And I'm looking for...um...that something I know what it is when I see it...LOL
Just kidding, but that's how it feels right now.
I think most of all I need still life and things that you cannot connect to a location, unless
it's actually from the UK.
If that makes any sense at all?

Feel free. Heheh, he was snatched from another photo anyway...thought it might add interest to that sunset. You caught me!

Oh my goodness, how cute....LOL
If you have any more photos of them, feel free to post them :D
To make a drawing of a pet or a person it takes good lighting and good detail.
Close up shots are best :)
Kort - sunsets works best for paintings. They tend to appear very flat as drawings unfortunately :(

Tofi - thank you :D
I might just use one of your photos of your dogs for a drawing. If I do and it turns out good, you
will be able to buy it before the exhibition if you want to since it's a rather personal subject. But
that's up to you to decide :)
Thanks again :)

Thanks, but I think I'll do a lot better without Soco. Been there, done that for waaaay too long.
Thanks for the still life though. I might not want a drink, but I can accept the piccies :D
And Tofi, I'll let you know how it pans out. I've got more experience with drawing cats than
dogs, so that's still on an experiemental stage :) I might need all the luck I can get :)

Inspiration is what all artists wish they had in abundance!
What you need is a portfolio showing examples of your work!
Work that you can recreate proportionally.
If you are looking for still-life images I imagine you can still do a search on Renderosity for that topic. I've shot a lot of still-life that are not posted on the web. You can spend hours viewing members galleries. Another suggestion is visiting a library and look for books relating to still-life either using photography or various art mediums.
Tip of the ole Hat

Tofi - thanks again :D
Silverhalide - I've got a big portfolio already, so that's not the problem really. This is something completely different since deadlines unfortunately won't care if the inspiration is there or not.
As for browsing galleries, yeah...you can do that all day long. It's more convinient to open a thread like this one and ask everyone at the same time if they have anything I can and are allowed to use. I'm working offline mostly right now so I don't have a lot of time left to browse everyone's piccies.

Hmm....I have 2 months left to finish 35 big drawings (including at least 2 weeks for framing) for an art exhibition and so far I've done
about 10 drawings in the size of an A3.
Since the exhibition area is the old ruin from Scarsdale Hall (some of you have seen it in my
gallery here...I've got an endless amount of shots from it) the walls will make framed A3
drawings look like stamps, so from today I'm going for a bigger size, A2.
The subjects I've done so far have been mostly local and I have a few more of that kind to do.
But since I have the skills to do a lot more than just landscapes, old ruins and flowers I want
to make sure this exhibition covers as many subjects as possible. It will be the introduction to
get Artfinity (my business) opened, which means that I need to cover all the areas that I know
I can do.
And I need subjects. I need ideas. To put it short - I need your help.
Because I'm lacking inspiration, which is not a good thing when you have a deadline.
What I could use is photos of still life, animals, people, architeture and anything else that
might be available. Unless I make a drawing or a painting on commission I never use a
photo for anything but inspiration.
If you have anything deep in your treasure chest that I could use for this purpose and that would
lead to a finished drawing, you would be given credit for the final result.
I've got about 3,000 photos in my backups and nothing will ring a bell. It's pathetic, really. But
you get blind easily when you stare at the same thing for too long.
The exhibition will be during July 15-16 and from what I understand I've had a permission from
English Heritage that can be very difficult to get. This ruin is located in the middle of the village
here and most of it's closest neighbors are retired and enjoy the silence. Which is why the
grounds to the Hall are never used for any events. And this opportunity is something I don't
want to blow. If the exhibition goes well, I will do a one week long exhibition during August as
well, arranged by English Heritage themselves and at the same location.
And the best thing of it all - my son will be here for a week in July. YAY!
I haven't seen him in over 2 years, so that will be another highlight.
Ok...enough rambling.
If anyone is interested to hand over some leftover piccies, or take some new shots for me for
this purpose, please let me know :)
