Subject: Liltsure Hair - striped . . .

byheart ( ) posted Sat, 22 April 2006 at 3:38 AM · edited Sat, 20 July 2024 at 10:34 PM

got the Liltsure hair last week and finally got time to use it . . . Poser 5 . . . it was striped;  thinking it didn't matter because I needed grey, I ran to Render and got MORE for Liltsure Hair by Boundless, installed and applied the grey . . . was shocked to find I was getting half grey and half black.

I looked everything over and couldn't find the reason, sent messages, read the tutorial, read the text files . . . nothing about striped hair problems . . . desperately wanting to finish my image, I headed for the matereial room and started unplugging things until I got down to just the normal mat file, bump map and trans file connected the only way I know how . . . and still had streaks, though not as bad.

Because I'd read somewhere in the mad search that the hair was light sensitive, I was using a lesser light than usual, dropped down from the grey hair I wanted to the silvery white and still had problems . . . so I got mad and fired up the light set I normally use and to my confused delight, finally had grey hair . . . it was grey and silver, but hey . .. after a few hours fighting it, I was willing to settle!

Got a funny felling I'm going to have to make an umMAT pose to knock out the settings so the true color of the MAT shows up if no one can help me with this.

Anyone know what caused that before I try to use it again????  AND, how to fix it?

Liltsure Hair was updated a few days ago - have you got the latest version (2) ?

Have you tried clicking the normals foward on each part of the hair?  This usually works for me.  Jus make sure to do it on both Hair one and Hair 2 zones.
